Mike Leach: 'Waterboy' tweet was not shot at UCLA QB

Mike Leach says that a tweet about “The Waterboy” he sent over the weekend had nothing to do with Washington State’s upcoming opponent. Leach sent a tweet Saturday that contained an image of Henry Winkler, who portrays a once-creative coach who’s lost his touch, drawing up a play that involves lots of talk about faking left, faking right, or not faking at all. The image took a new spin recently with “Dorian” being added to it — a possible reference to Hurricane Dorian’s direction. The odd thing is Washington State faces UCLA in its next game. The Bruins’ quarterback is named Dorian Thompson-Robinson, leading some to wonder if Leach was joking about the UCLA QB. Leach was asked about it on Monday and said it had nothing to do with the UCLA quarterback and more to do with the movie being excellent. So there you have it. 3-0 Washington State is favored by 19 points over the 0-3 Bruins.
