    Joe Burrow plays through possible rib injury against Clemson

    Joe Burrow appeared to be playing through an injury in the second half of the CFP National Championship Game on Monday night against Clemson. The LSU Tigers quarterback got hurt just before halftime against Clemson. Burrow threw a touchdown pass to Thaddeus Moss with 10 seconds left in the half to put LSU up 28-17. He took a shot to the rib area just as he threw the pass. As the game got set to return from halftime, ESPN showed Burrow on a stationary bike on the sideline, seemingly trying to work something out. ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi said that Burrow was grimacing slightly but brushing off the medical staff and teammates. One report says Holly Rowe reported on the radio that Burrow was gasping for air as he left the field, leading her to wonder whether he had a rib injury. LSU went 3-and-out on its first two possessions to start the second half before going on a touchdown drive and an ensuing drive that ended in a missed field goal.
