[Last Word on Sports] - This Ten-Year Pro Outfielder Is Heading To San Diego

Ten-year outfielder has played on four teams since arriving in the majors in 2012. Jurickson started his career primarily playing second base, but after the Oakland Athletics traded Profar to the San Diego Padres in 2019. He transitioned from being a utility infielder to playing in the outfield, mostly in left field and sometimes in center field. During the 2023 season, he was a member of the Colorado Rockies before being released on August 27th. A few days later, on September 1st, the Padres signed Jurickson to a minor league contract. After the season was over, he became a free agent. It was announced that Profar signed a deal to return to the San Diego Padres. Padres, INF/OF Jurickson Profar reportedly agree to deal, per 's . — MLB (@MLB) Jurickson Profar Signs With The Padres Profar struggled against a few pitches during the 2023 season. Arguably, his worst pitch to see was a sweeper. Out of 68 sweepers seen in 2023, Jurickson put a .125 batting average against the pitch while striking out nearly 30 percent of the time. He also struggled against sliders, changeups, cutters, and splitters. His best pitch to see at the plate was a sinker. Profar put up a .385 batting average against the pitch and had a slugging percentage of .492. If Jurickson wants to have a successful 2024 season, he must have a dramatic improvement at the plate, especially against off-speed and breaking ball pitches. Profar's 2023 Stats Jurickson played 125 games in 2023 with both the Rockies and the Padres. In 459 at-bats, Profar collected 111 hits, nine home runs, and a stolen base with 46 runs batted in. Also, he put up a .242 batting average. His best game of the season had to be on May 9th when he played for Colorado. The ten-year pro-outfielder went two for four with two homers and three runs batted in during a 10-1 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
