if we want depth, we'll have to cut some descending players with bloated contracts. Agreed. I am agreeing with Nutty way too much.
In your opinion, is Trai Turner worth the $11.5 million next year? No.
Linval Joseph's contract jumps up to $11.5 million next year...Yes.

I say cut some of the waste... then find sneaky-good ascending players in free agency.
And there is one of TT's weaknesses. Dude should be allowed to scout and sign CB's... and that's it. TT's first signing was Derek Cox.

I'm not a huge proponent of FA signs... but there isn't much in the toolbox.
The whole left side of the OL will become FA's... and I'm not convinced that any of them deserve raises...bring em all three with coupons. PON ORG.
    Nine picks.

First get some players to help boost Herb's confidence...Oline...Slater has grit...ORG. Chase is a superb playmaker. Najee to go with Ek. One of the TEs.

Then get rotational players for the D. PRS. DT (Where's Justin Jones ?) DB or 2. LB.

    You don't know ball

Turner has been disappointing, no doubt...but there is opportunity for redemption. A strong, proud finish to the season, and a decent injury history, make him a consideration for next years roster...jury is still out, IMO. Though if a killer RG prospect falls in our lap at a good spot...pull the trigger.

LOL...the quote doesn't show you creative editing of Nutty's post...I was responding to your note on Trai Turner..

Or..."we wanna draft this impact superman defender Parsons." BTW there will be several EDGE players to augment Nwosu, MI (?), Tillery opposite Joey, even in round 4. And we did just draft Murray to be our MIKE. Is LB going the way of the FB anyhow ?

Why wouldn't we..."wanna draft a supremely talented weapon for Herb...J'marr Chase?" BTW there will be WRs up and down this draft, but none of them will be as good, or as impactful for Herb, as Chase would be. I do not give a shit who is here already.

Then there are trade down scenarios, with a fistful of QBs and anxious teams in play.

        Coaches in '21 ?

The final answer has yet to be revealed.
Is that Steve's line? LB no longer an impact player in this league? (Unless I got him mixed up with someone else...) Tell that to the Colts, whose defense suffered some average moments while Leonard was out...depending on who else is available, Parsons is definitely on the radar....him, Murray, and Tanquil sound great to me.

Edge...can always use another pass rusher, and you can see how we have struggled when those guys are knicked up or gone...but I also like the idea of Tillery at DE in a more traditional 4-3. Bosa, Tillery, Rochelle rotation, Joseph and Jones on the inside...with some shake up in dime packages as Tillery moves inside and a pass rush specialist steps in...bottom line, OK if we address it later rounds.

WR, TE, RB...I believe, truly, that given enough time to throw, Herbert is gonna make anybody a weapon...and with good run blocking, our stable of RBs, especially with Eke back, are very adequate...good in fact. Can always add a playmaker, and in the absence of real value at another position...sure...but I wouldn't be reaching for one of these guys.

CB....Extremely valuable position, and should be looked at hard, early....but TT has had some luck with hiring DBs off the street.

Oline...Free agency?....nobody readily let's good olineman go, unless they are suffering catastrophic cap issues...this is a rare animal in the FA market...and with this young talented QB, I think it a top priority to upgrade the qualtiy of the line....so yes. I am a trencher this year. I'm not saying oline or bust....I'm just saying that if there is an olineman available at any of our early draft positions that is worth taking, we should be leaning that direction...aggressively.

But still a whole lot of season left...maybe Turner/Bulaga finish strong...maybe Williams or Henry goes down with another big time injury, and we are looking at a skill player like Chase or Pitts early...we will see.

Coaches? Lynn wins 4 or 5 of the last 7, and locker room has his back, you keep him....but I have seen enough of Gus and his defense. Gotta shake things up there.

LOL....shoulda tracked the kid down here in Normal, Il(Illinois State)...told him to give the Bolts a call when he wasn't drafted...of course, the campus was closed down for Covid, he was probably long gone...

Was in the RB coaches office last week, replacing a control valve in the ceiling...NFL wall in the hallway has a couple of bolts on there...wish he was on of them!!

Lokking at OG's, I like Zion Johnson from Boston College.

Some teams are in cap-hell with the expected cap reduction for next year. Green Bay is one of those teams. With Corey Linsley being a FA at year's end, I wonder if cutting Trai Turner (and his $11.5 million contract) might free up cash to sign Linsley at center...? Then draft a guard (instead of center) this draft.

Dream OL: LT Sewell, LG Lamp, OC Linsley, RG Zion Johnson, RT Bulaga. Two ex-Campen trained OL (Linsley, Bulaga), two stud rookies, and Lamp.
