Brandon Silvers (Troy)
Pros
Strong arm
some footwork for a spread guy
Throws a beautiful back shoulder fade. NFL caliber throw.
Big and has some size to stand in vs the rush.
SHows some leadership and can carry his team.
Cons
Flashes some ability to throw receivers open and in stride, but is often a bit off.
Has more footwork than a lot of rip and read spread guys, but on a lot of passes will not bother to step into his throws and rely on arm strength.
Throws most of his passes within 5 yards of the line. I haven't looked at his stats, but he does not have NFL caliber accuracy or ball placement.
Struggles to throw downfield except on the back shoulder fade.
Takes time to build his speed.
Will zero in on receivers
Summary
Reminds me of a better Billy Joe Tolliver (turnover). Has a lot of what you look for in an NFL QB, but is missing any special qualities. Might be able to develop into a backup, but needs a lot of work on mechanics and modern passing to step up from college dink and dunk.
