    Kurt Benkert

    Kurt Benkert
    Pros
Reads defenses and likes to spread the ball around. Finds open guys and gets them the ball.
Looks more like and NFL passer in terms of hitting the inside seams and throwing to the TE, instead of throwing a ton of dink and dunks
Will stand in against the rush.
Does a good job of dinking and dunking and then as soon as the D gets frustrated hitting the big play downfield.
OK arm strength, but not really a strong-armed guy.

    Cons
Throws most of his passes short. Not as bad as some spread guys, but can still get into a rut of dink and dunk passes to the RB and WR on really short routes and not get the ball downfield.
When the big plays don't happen downfield will get frustrated. REally struggled vs Navy when there was very little open, short or long.
Will hold the ball too long.
Doesn't do much damage with his legs.
Offense relied on him, but he really doesn't make the play with his arm as much as just keep spreading it around and let the receivers (eventually) make the plays.
Kind of thin and needs to build his body.

    Summary
Probably a better version of Colt McCoy (Redskins backup). Good at spreading the ball around, reading defenses and moving the ball. HE can make some big plays if the receivers do something impressive, but if you give him average receivers he won't make them seem like they are great. Could develop into a very good backup and occasional starter, but not the guy I want starting 16 games.
