TPB 2019 GMD Post Draft Thread

    New York Jets
    Rd1/2. Josh Allen OLB Kentucky
Rd3/93. Michael Jordan C the OSU
    Rd4/105. Maxx Crosby OLB/DE E Illinois
Rd 6/196 Dennis Daley OT S Caroline
    Rd7/ 217. Ka'dar Hollman CB Toledo

NYJ had Josh Allen as must draft. We need a difference maker. To move up one spot we traded an early round 3 and a 2020 round 2.

Michael Jordan gives us a Mangold type Center for Darnold and Le'Veon.

WR is not a need due to FA, including Le'Veon !

CB is a big need. Ka'dar is a speedy playmaker.
    ‐-------------------

    Seattle Seahawks
    Rd1/21. Byron Murphy CB Washington
    Rd3/84 Lamont Gaillard C Georgia
    Rd4/124 Charles Omenihu DL Texas
Rd5/159 Keelan Doss WR UC Davis

Seahawks went for a talented local Corner, Murphy, who excels in Zone. This rounds out the all important DB population.

Omenihu can work with Rasheem Green, kick inside, and offset possible 2020 cap hit Frank Clark.

Galliard is an anchor Center, a bucket full of hate, nasty and grit. Wesley Britt under performs and has a 2020 cap hit of $11million.
IOL and running game is everything in SEA.

Doss is a fine sleeper pick. Baldwin is a question with recovery from injury.

Both teams wanted to trade down in a big way. At least NYJ have cap space for late, post draft FAs.

Im waiting to see what Washington does at qb. Get a draftee in the first or trade their #1 for Rosen.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    The Wasted Decade is done.

      Houston Texans

      RD1-23. Kaleb McGary. OT/OG Washington
RD2-54. Parris Campbell WR Ohio st
RD2-55. Justin Layne CB Michigan st
      RD3-86. D'Andre Walker 3-4 OLB GA
      RD5-161. Dru Samia OG Oklahoma
RD6-195. Dax Raymond TE Utah st
      RD7-220. Albert Huggins DT Clemson

Texans need some OL to protect Watson better as he was sacked the most in the league. They are also weak at TE and could have gone sooner there for them. Almost picked Irv Smith for them at #55.

      Los Angeles Chargers

Things didnt quite fall our way so.....

RD1-28. Garrett Bradbury IOL NC ST
      RD2-60. Dre'Mont Jones DT OSU
      RD3-91. JoeJuan Williams CB Vanderbilt
      RD4-130.Anthony Johnson WR Buffalo
If they make it to us
      RD5-166. Isaiah Prince OT OSU
      RD6-200. Cameron Smith MLB USC

      RD7-242. Ed Alexander DT LSU

Dont know what team Telesco will do if they trade down or up or stay. I tried to trade up twice in the 3rd and 4th rounds but my target players went before my potentual trade partners so it didnt work out.

I know some will say we need a NT type instead of Jones but he is a penentrating DT who at #60, i thought was good value, ...and who will rotate in to help add some pressure from the inside.

Also think Alexander can develope there as a late pick. We might sign a vet at NT as well. Sheldon is out there though im not high on him but he can rotate in with Mebane helping to keep them fresher.

          Rd2(49) T.Howard-OT, Alabama St. (1st)
          Rd3(80) M.Scharping-OL, N.Illinois (2nd)
          Rd4(119) K.Saunders-DT, W.Illinois (3rd)
Cleveland did their damage pre-draft getting OBJ-WR.

          Rd4(104) S.Bunting-CB, C.Michigan (2nd)
San Francisco wanted Allen-LB. But really liked the idea of adding picks.
          They got Jets 3rd(68) and 2020 2nd.
Will DK.Metcalf-WR, J.Jacobs-RB and the player that is the 2020 2nd rd pick be worth it?

          Rd6(176) S.Calhoun-G/C, Miss St.(udfa)
          Rd7(212) J.Barton-OT, Utah (7th)

            Giants

            1.6 Quinnen Williams DT
            1.17 Andre Dillard OT
            2.1 Daniel Jones QB via trade of 2.5, 4.30, 6.7 for 2.1, 7.34, 7.35
            3.31 Amani Hooker S
            4.6 David Montgomery RB

            future picks for 5th rd
            5.4 Nate Davis OG
            5.5 Mecole Hardman WR
            5.31 Isiah Johnson CB

Really wanted to hit the ground running with this team and got lucky when Williams dropped. Andre Dillard replaces wheeler at right tackle for now shoring up the porous offensive line till he eventually takes over from nate solder at left tackle. I trade up for Jones in fear of the Patriots taking him at no 3 in the second round, he provides a solid replacement for Eli who will sit for one or two seasons. Hooker is a youngish similar style player to Landon Collins who will hopefully be a solid replacement and Montgomery is a solid value pick in the 4th i have a late 2 early 3rd value on him despite his high workload which shouldn't matter as he is only there to spell Saquon Barkley. This provides a two headed monster for Giants future running game.

The Future picks provide depth at positions of need on a weak offensive line, a post Beckham receiving corps and a defensive backs groups that needs youth. All of them i have early 4th round grades on and they should contribute in their first seasons before starting towards the end.

            Denver

            1.10 TJ Hockenson TE
            2.9 Dexter Lawrence DT
            3.7 Connor Mcgovern OG/OC
            4.23 Marquise Blair S

            Future picks
            5.10 Corey Ballantine CB
            5.18 Phil Haynes OG

With this draft i generally just went BPA although i did try to trade down from my second spot due to having players who filled needs with lesser values than the spot i was selecting at but was unable to do so. Hockenson gives Flacco a weapon at TE which fills a need. Lawrence provides quality beef on the defensive line. Mcgovern helps to shore up the offensive line which has been subpar and should be able to start at either guard or centre. Blair fills a need at safety and has the speed and range to cover either safety position.

As for the future picks Ballantine is a developmental prospect who should help replenish Denver's ageing cornerbacks in the future and Haynes provides and aggressive blocker who after a season should be ready to push for starting snap at offensive guard.

I would say i am fairly happy with both drafts, maybe i unnecessarily panicked for Jones but, i believe the situation dictated it given the QB'S that were left on the board and i don't feel it was much of a reach to take him in the second. What do you guys think?

Patriots would have selected Jones at #35.
                Giants fear was warranted.

                The Raiders helped your cause.
Patriots were prepared to take Jones at #32.
Trading to Raiders #35 seemed safe as Raiders, Cardinals & 49ers were not going to take QB.

But then Giants move to #33 and got it done.
                Good work.

As a consolation. Patriots grab Alabama LB and with the pick for trading back to #35. 106 Stidham-QB.

I am surprised you didn't pick up on it with me asking you about a trade up but i suppose i got lucky in the end with Cardinals helping me jump you to steal Jones. Wouldn't have selected a QB till late third otherwise and even then i'd have probably avoided it with them already having Lauletta.

My guess was Giants wanted Jones. I was hoping you didnt find a trade and was a little bummed when you did. Now if Stidham ends up the better pro, I will be really lucky.

Traded down from 32 to 35. Got pick 106 Stidham-QB.

                        Rd6(205) M.Hyatt-OT, Clemson (udfa)
                        Rd7(239) J.Ledbetter-DE, Georgia (udfa)
                        Rd7(246) T.Summers-LB, TCU (7th)
                        Rd7(252) B.Knight-OG, Indiana (udfa)

Wilson, Metcalf, Slayton. I guess I had them way overrated.

Looks like the whole group mock had a number of players under-rated.
                        As I was able to snag all these players in later rds of mock, and they actually went in earlier rds in the draft;
Savage, Jacobs, Abram, Henderson, Bunting, Howard, Scharping, Saunders, Edoga

But let's see what they all become in 2-3 seasons.

Who has it better than us?
