2020 TPB Member’s And Pundits Mock Drafts

Mid season at 3-5. While I’m still hoping for a 9 game win streak and a 11-5 season, but with how we’ve play thus far not likely.

No idea how the Bolt’s season concludes, which underclassmen enter the draft, or what our roster looks like come April.

    1) Derrick “Baby Barrack” Brown (DT) AUB 6’ 5” 318# - Monster, Uber strength/power, cat quick for 318#s, devastating upfield disrupter, active HEAVY hands that need technique work, Derrick is exceptionally stout at the POA, sheds/tosses would be blockers aside w/ease.
    - never thought we’d have a chance to draft him before the season started.
    - 45 seconds in Derrick powerbombs a RB. Dude is nasty physical!

    2) Ezra Cleveland (OT) BSU 6’ 6’’ 315# - Excellent athlete, great feet, quality length that he uses well, tremendous body position and easily destroys 2nd/3rd level targets, protects arc with length/leverage.
    - FSU game he dominated

    3) Ke’Shaun Vaughn (RB) VANDY 5’ 10” 218# - Tough, powerful, quick, decent long speed, excellent vision, incredible contact balance, solid in blitz pickup, smart, good hands.
    - another college RB that wears #5

    4) Cameron Dantzler (CB) MSST 6’ 2” 195# - Long, fast, excellent body control, needs to locate ball earlier to make more plays, good hands, tough/physical tackler, good feet but has correctable backpedal plant issue.
    - playmaker with length speed as a boundary CB.

    5) Charlie Taumoepoeu (TE) PSU (Portland St) 6’ 3” 245# - Bigtime athlete, great hands, RAC all day, decent blocker but needs coaching (mentality is there), excellent route tree.
-this kid could be a huge steal!

    6) De’Jon Harris (ILB) ARK 6’ 245# - Aggressive, physical, tough run stopper w/ very good athleticism, smart, lacks height/length in PD, solid M2M skills vs RBs.

    7) Adam Holtorf (OC/OG) KST 6’ 4” 305# - Competitor, Uber consistent, excellent fundamentals, 35+ starts at OC, marginal athlete, quick hand strikes, will need to improve anchor strength.
-2018 MSST Game. More than holds his own vs the premier IDL of the 2019 draft class.

I love me some Derrick Brown.
He is a perfect pick for us.
Looks like Tyrod will have to give up his number.

Great work, rounds 1 thru 7, ninja !
I have confidence in your scout's eye @ Oline.
    Scharping is starting for HOU.
    You don't know ball

Scharping and Risner are both having solid rookie campaigns.

Risner and Thornhill would have been my 1st & 2nd in the draft. That “what if’s”....:ml:

you guys are doing work @TE.... first w/Kmet and now w/Taumoepeau.

apparently Dantzler has already caught the eye of Chargers' scouts as well.

Nice. It is a very deep CB group in 2020.

this analysis suggests that Derrick still has work to do to "become" the top 15/20 pick in the draft ??

so we're midway or so thru the draft season.... happy to roll out what I've got penciled in, albeit def not overly researched or vetted quite yet:

                  1) DT Derrick Brown, OC Tyler Biadasz, RB D’Andre Swift, WILLIS Isaiah Simmons, QB Jason Eason

think the classic/expected pick round one would be to go RB again, ala LT, Mathews and MG3, and.... how is it that we wouldn't rinse 'n repeat our current cycle of horseshoes ??

if we're gonna turn the corner, we've got to eschew the temptation/lure of drafting skill players in lieu of taking care of our trenches first.

if and when we draft lineman ahead of the scoreboard/billboard RB of choice, or any such ballyhooed wideout.... we will be (back) on the road to a SB appearance.

and don't get me wrong, will have zero problem w/drafting Swift if he turns out as I suspect, as rule No. 1 is not to bust, and.... don't think he will.

                  what would you do ??

if D. Brown goes the way of Vea and Dex, and is off the board by our slot, do you pass on Isaiah Simmons, Eason or Swift in lieu of an OC.... (we didn't w/James re: Isaiah Wynn/Frank Ragnow)….

not very sexy if you're the.... L.A. Chargers,

                    day two

                    2) TE Jake Ferguson, LEO Julian Okwara, SS Hamsah Nasirildeen, DE Kenny Willekes, CB Jaylon Johnson
                    3) SR Aaron Fuller, SAM Paddy Fisher

we flat out were killin' Phil by leaving him without a TE, and ditto for minus Tyrell and Travis.... our Oline might not be as desirable as some/most here might wish for, and.... really think the bigger problem is that Phil just hasn't had enough to work with.... 20 passes to Keenan.... in one game !! 15 to Ek.... in one game.

knowin' Tom, will not be surprised if he resigns Melvin @RB.... if so, we badly need to get him a reliable option @TE and a dynamic element @SR, to ensure that we maximize our talents @WR.

                    day three

                    4) QB Riley Neal, FS Jordan Fuller, RB AJ Dillon, CB Darnay Holmes
                    5) SAM Evan Weaver, NT Leki Fotu, RB JJ Taylor, RT Drew Richmond, RB Joshua Kelly
                    6) CB Nevelle Clark, RB Benny LeMay, CB AJ Green
                    7) RT Abraham Lucas

if Phil sticks around and plays another year in LA/Hollywood Park, not into trading up for a high profile QB in the draft, partly cuz am not overly sold/taken by any of the QBs, and that think we should go all in on Phil if 'tis his last season w/us as advertised/surmised ??

there is very little love out there for developmental QB Riley Neal outta Vanderbilt, and.... if I'm Tom, he's a guy that am vetting to bring in to see if he might be a quality NFL starter @some point down the line ??

and if we don't nab/snag Paddy Fisher early, really think it wise to (still) garner some depth @LB, as if Uchenna plays a bit more LEO, or if Drue ends up as a WILLIS (WIL/SS), do think that someone like Evan Weaver could well spell someone @either SAM or MIKE as a decent backup there ??

Nevelle Clark is a puffer that might get pushed down the board for bein' a puff daddy (silly stuff given this day 'n age), who is a physical corner that can well complement the guys that we have back there now.

and don't know much 'bout Lucas, other than he is a red shirt sophomore that could really be a steal if he somehow came out and lasted 'til day three and then some.

I'm working on the assumption that PR will be back next year. At this point, I'm ready to move on from players like Denzel Perryman, Russell Okung, and Mike Pouncey. Use that money to get a RT and a C/OG in FA.

Round 1: OT Alex Leatherwood. Versatile player with power, balance, and good technique. Have to get a future LT on a 5-year contract.

LT: Alex Leatherwood #70LG: Evan Neal #73C: Chris Owens #79RG: Landon Dickerson #69RT: Jedrick Wills Jr. #74

Round 2: DT Marvin Wilson. Big and strong. Sheds blockers well with hands and tough against the run. Is effective pass rusher in the middle. Keep our LB's clean!

Round 3: ILB Joe Bachie. I do like Denzel Perryman. But he's too often hurt. Tranquill is developing nicely but I think Bachie is a better run defender. He's no slouch in pass coverage either.

Counting down the top returning Big Ten football players heading into the 2019 season. At #24 - Michigan State LB Joe BachieSUBSCRIBE to Big Ten Network on ...

Round 4: RB Chuba Hubbard. I don't know if he lasts this long but the RB position is deep this draft. Najee Harris is another possibility. Moving on from MG3.

Round 5: WR K.J. Hill. Good hands. Good speed. Good route runner. Another deep position this year. Can play the slot.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Round 6: OC/OG Zach Shackleford. Hope the Chargers are active in FA for OC/OG. Shackleford would provide depth/competition for Quiz/Feeney/Lamp.

LT: Samuel Cosmi #52LG: Parker Braun #73C: Zack Shackelford #56RG: Junior Angilau #75RT: Derek Kerstetter #68

Round 7: CB Damon Arnette. This may be a little late for CB. Position is deep this draft. One thing TT does well is find late round round talent at CB.

Must get an instant starter at OT and stronger up the middle on run defense. Deep positions RB, WR, and CB will net some steals and depth at skill positions.

like that you're going linemen early, still front seven after that, and still yet get another linemen in the mix day three, along w/a smattering of skill position players.... prolly the direction we need to head in the draft, @least relatively speaking ??
