Sometimes the "big uglies" free up the "playmakers" to do their thing. I think we have playmakers who are not able to bust free due to our weakness along both lines. Most are thinking Derrick Brown in the 1st round... and I wouldn't be opposed to that idea either.

dug a little deeper on him, and.... major injury concern:

relentless, powerful/versatile (LG), physical/flexible, team captain, Lisfranc foot injury, 2x w/ruptured achilles, eligible for 2020/medical red shirt, violent hands/strong base, Quenton Nelson mention/compare, people mover

That explains why I can only find tape of him as a freshman from a couple years ago. Too bad. I'd rather the Chargers stay away from injury concerns.

I've wondered if Tevi could slide inside to guard. Same goes for Scott. A lot of injury concerns along that proposed OL. And I think Tua will be gone before we pick.

admirable/good to see that you are staying true to your trencher convictions w/Trey, and....

not sure who the (FA) LT is gonna be, as don't think Okung carries over into next season, albeit do think we're looking at a line something akin to:

FA LT * Lamp * Qberry * Dan * Pip

personally would pony up an offer to Whitworth which matched the length of Rivers' next contract, and.... let them ride off into the sunset together.

Once Lamp and Okung get hurt, you'd be awfully thin along that left side. NFL DC's look for, and attack, weaknesses on a regular basis.

First off... very rarely do you get a quality FA left tackles. All the good ones get re-signed. Only older LT's (usually on the downside) get let go... and they're usually expensive. Get your quality LT in the 1st round... this is where they reside.

Secondly... Lamp has been on IR longer than he's been on active roster. Qberry looked over-matched vs the Broncos, Feeney still hasn't figured it out after 3 years. And Pip just plain sucks.

That OL has a ceiling of 7-9. We should do better. Draft a LT in the 1st. Follow it up with Creed Humphrey in the 2nd. Get an OG and RT in FA... then we'll talk.

Humphrey is a redshirt sophomore. Has he declared for the draft?
