I think he is a kind of wasted pick at WILL while also considering we dont blitz much with LBs. Would be a better player in the Kam Chanceller role at SS or Phillips role type but we already have Derwin.
IDK id really be hesitant with drafting him at #6 considering what will be there instead. Depends on the plans Gus would have for using him. Wouldnt hate it but would be wondering what could of been for the OL or QB.

Derwin rocked in our defensive scheme. Derwin and Simmons are similar players. So it is logical that Simmons would similarly rock in our defense. [That would be good.]

But, I'm not sure how both of them would line up. Would one be a LB? Wouldn't it be more likely that they would both line up at Safety and swap around as SS/FS? (Imagine opposing QB grief trying to figure out which would stay in the box and which would drop deep)

If so, what would Nasir Adderley's role be? (presuming he is healthy in 2020)

If Adderley is out of a job that might reduce the team's interest in Simmons.

But, if memory serves, Adderley also played CB at Delaware. Could Adderley be an option (upgrade?) opposite Casey at CB?

If so, drafting Simmons might upgrade 2 positions (S & CB). [That would also be good.]

[That would be good.] Many here are taking a cursory look and calling Simmons a Safety. My projection is WILL, NLB w/Derwin and Phillips. DIME packages will be used a lot.

If Adderley is out of a job that might reduce the team's interest in Simmons. Plenty of room for both. Impact defenders are welcome, no matter what our depth chart looks like.

With correct personnel Gus will use different looks. Trenchers (maybe you are one ? :smile are superficial and dismissive of any pick that is not one of the big three OTs.
