I might agree with the caller regarding Brown. Brown seemed to disappear at times. Davidson doesn't have Browns size, but he has a better motor and is quicker. But, like Brown I wouldn't take Davidson at #6.

I think I may have posted once on Stidham last year. I wasn't very kind. Stidham regressed his Sr year and just couldn't handle what was asked of him. Decent arm talent, but his head would get in the way and he thought he was faster than he really was. His legs rarely saved him and he had a tendency to bail on the pocket too quickly. I couldn't believe the Patriots took him, even with a late round flyer.

some are saying D. Brown isn't deserving of a top five/ten slotting and might be more fairly slotted in the (early) teens as well ??

and then there is Swift, who rarely breaks the teens himself, if not finding himself much lower in the first or even top of the second.... ??

Vegas has the 12 & 19, Miami has 18 & 26.... hate to miss out on a top shelf prospect, and.... there is always the Polamalu factor.

RB & WR are very high on my list this draft.... ye ol' skill positions.... always a temptation,

ps. really suspect that Gruden has a hankerin' for young Justin.... @6 ??
If TT isn't after a QB, this should be a serious consideration. Get an extra 2nd this year and maybe next, fix the trenches, and see what the QB crop looks like next year.

Obviously, Mike Renner subscribes to the woodeye Scouting Bureau Newsletter.

PFF posted their Mock Draft v4 today.
At 6 LAC took Isaiah Simmons, with all OTs still on the board !
Renner referenced the incredible flexibility this gives us.
We can really disguise our coverages and mix up our blitzes.
Renner even went so far as to say "...this is how you play modern defensive football."

Isaiah will give us another elite talent that will change/dictate matchups, give Bosa & SupaMel extra tick to smash QBs, eliminate outside run angles, and so much more.

Like a broken record .....which,....ok, but when such a player isnt what they thought, why keep campaigning for them? And wanting to overpay?

I think Melvin needs a few ticks.
                  He should be trade bait.

for all the Olinaholics…. pls refer back to the 2013 class of first round OTs.... (gotta get an OT.... forget about any other position.... period !!)

                    01) Eric Fisher
                    02) Luke Joeckel
                    04) Lane Johnson
                    11) DJ Fluker
                    19) Justin Pugh

guessin' that there's a coupla few of you out there who don't even know/recall who one or two of those guys are.... ??

and btw, some other over the top promoted OGs went (very) early as well....

                    07) Jonathan Cooper
                    10) Chance Warmack

DeAndre Hopkins didn't go 'til pick 27.... LeVeon Bell not 'til 48, and.... you still gotta have your Olineman…. ftw, right.... ??

a relatively unheralded OC went @the back of the first @31.... Travis Frederick (see Tyler Biadasz this year if you want an OC similarly slotted/talented)

and Star Lotulelei "fell" to 14, after being touted @one point as a possible one overall talent.... (Sly went @28 btw)

there was another (big) surprise @OG picked by da Bears (a reach @20 according to most predraft prognostications).... Kyle Long, and who turned out much, much the better than either of the highly touted big name prospects that went (well) before him.

there was a guy named Terron Armstead that went @75 to N'awlins, as many peoples were rather unsure of him (save for Decatur, if you recall that ever so ardent poster)

will also add that Carolina double dipped @DT w/Kawann Short in round 2, and our very own Mr. Telesco pulled his first FO coup by snatching up Mr. Keenan Allen all the way down @76.

moral to the story.... all you Oline surefires and nothing buts.... hoping you reconsider your D'Andre Swifts and CeeDee Lambs of this draft, and be a little more careful of your Austin Jacksons, Jedrick Wills, Josh Jones, Mekhi Bectons and the like, as personally am cool if Andrew Thomas pulls a Lane Johnson and "falls" to us @6, but in no way shape or form can I see team TommyJohn make head nor tails of someone like Wills or Trey Adams, as much prefer going w/a Star Lotulelei like pick (Brown) or LeVeon Bell (Swift), and if we're lucky perhaps a Terron Armstead (Yasir Durant) come round three ??

                      16) Weaver is good
                      18) Wills @8 and Jones here.... in PFF we trust
                      19) prototypical high risk/reward (w/Laviska) power of suggestion
                      21) do think Philly needs to go WR
                      22) do like me some Jaylon (Johnson)
                      23) Jarrett >> Justin
                      25) PFF has a pretty good track record w/identifying DT talent early (Chris Jones)
                      26) very high risk pick in CJ Henderson
                      27) 'nother one that don't think he's a day oner (Bryce Hall)
                      28) 'nother boom or bust.... will give PFF benefit of the doubt here (Ashtyn)
                      29) underweight and more day 2 talent me suspex (Okwara)
                      30) who ?? (WR Jauan Jennings)

This is a well thought out rebuttal...but...to be fair, that was just a bad year. A ton of first round perennial starters on olines around the league for a reason...and when you have good RBs and WRs already, and adding quality to those ranks can definitely be accomplished by picks in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds, and the oline is the worst component of your team...thats why you look hard in the first and second rounds for oline help, and scoff at the Lambs and Jeudys and Swifts...

Honestly, there are arguments for both approaches...but again...considering what our glaring weakness is, you gotta see why people are adamant about going big early...

                        Let's not forget QB!!!

Sorry Beach....we got Eke and JJ, we got KA and MDub...think we need another piece in both stables...but though we may not go OLine at 6, I very much doubt it would be Swift or Lamb. They are neither a big need or BPA...or even graded that high in my book.

A surprise addressing of the oline in FA, and a QB at 6...then maybe when can talk about Swift in the second.
