They won sure but they didn't dominate at all.
Yep. Not sure how anyone sees this as Bolts getting dominated. Rivers and the offense's brain farts put us in the hole early. That's a 10-17 point swing assuming we at least score 3-7 points on one of those drives that ended up in interceptions. That's huge.

This game shouldn't have been close to begin with.

Meh, the two rookie ends dominated the line. The rookie Renfrow was open every route. The rookie RB sealed the game. The rookie FB scored a TD. In true Raider fashion, they absolutely killed themselves with penalties (one that negated a red zone INT), missed FG and XPT, etc. The point is, they did everything imaginable and Raider-like to lose that game, yet the Chargers managed to lose it.

I guess I should have rephrased because, you're right, they did not get dominated. But the rookies on the other side had dominant performances. That is what I meant, and it's disheartening to see a division rival have so many impact players perform against us.

We also need to acknowledge that the team ain't as talented, due to Rivers showing his age and injuries everywhere else, as we expected it to be. I don't really see much "seasoned talent" on the active roster right now outside of Bosa, Ingram (who only now is getting healthy and back to form), Hayward, and Allen. Henry (also missed several games) and Ekeler are the up-and-comers, but there's a lot of junk at other positions and it's too much to overcome.

We've got a lot of holes to fill. If we can draft one solid OT and sign a FA OT, that will help. Also, draft an OG. If we let Gordon go, we'll need a RB, probably in mid or late rounds. We still need DT help, CB, LB, and FS is still a question mark. Oh, and of course, need to draft or sign a FA QB...

Rivers is only part of the problem. But some people see only what they want to see.

Teams lose games. The Raiders aren't a terrible team, but this one hurts bad.

There's blame aplenty to go around and this isn't the only bad loss this season.

am a Patton fan and still just don't get it.... by my take he is (mostly) a heady receiver and hasn't earned his reps.... he's the Roderic Teamer of our offense.

when I see how the both of Patton and Teamer have been leaned on/plugged in, my suspicion is that our system tends/leans toward the rigid side of the equation ??

very good that Ekeler was used in the slot and out wide, and.... did we use him enough ?? ….(just three passes to our RBs ?)

              D. Watt played a fair bit less than in the previous game ??

and know they got slammed, but props to the Q and Pip, and as the game slowly unraveled after Okung went down and out.

big neg far as I can surmise is that Desmond played a fair bit less in this game.... how do we justify playing any of the others in his stead, instead of him in our base pkg ??

and are Mebane and Square really the better option over Jerry and Slyvester ?? ….not to mention just Brandon rather than Sly ??

our top/fab five snap counters were Jenkins, Tranquill, Mike D., Jaylen and Thomas Davis, and that after the most/many of us were hoping for the likes of Derwin, Denzel (DNP Coach's decision), Trevor Williams, the Nas and Kyzir…. little bit of a wow.

RB D'Andre Swift, LT Netane Muti, SR Aaron Fuller, CB Nevelle Clark, Eric Stokes, S Hamsah Nasirildeen, QB Riley Neal, NT Leki Fotu, RB Joshua Kelly * NT Danny Shelton, ILB Jon Bostic

                • ship is taking on water.... personally see Stitch, Gus and AL w/their fingerprints all over this.

agree on wondering where the quick slants to Henry/Keenan were, and ditto to Melvin and Ekeler in the flats ??

why so much Patton and not more Austin and even Derek or Kendricks ??

same problems/difficulties w/the picket fence and our red zone O.... AL is loyal to his guys Mebane and Square, and not sure that's in the best interest of the team ??

and didn't see the game (just listened in), and.... sure seemed that we were sluggish more oft than not, 'specially on the Oline, and that we just got flat out run over @times ??

and in our coach's defense.... what's Phil to do when his receivers aren't/can't get open ?? not to mention when Russell went out, things really got testy back there, and regardless of who your QB might be.

agree that Phil was skittish or the like back there, but also not gonna minimize what it musta been like behind that Oline after Okung was out for the remainder ??

and got no problems w/winning the toss and electing to receive.... we played pretty well w/the lead against GB.

also can't believe that Tyrod woulda or will fare any better.... in fact, would be surprised if he wouldn'ta been ravaged under/given the circumstances.

not gonna show for the Philabash that most here are advertising.... he might not be the answer, but he is def not the problem.

our FO got a rise outta things after drafting third and seventh overall, since then they and we have come back down to earth some, and as our talent evaluation has not overcome the slide in draft slotting.

and really.... you guys are calling out the Powder B!ues…. no way man,

ps. still callin' it a SB run for next season,

They were there and open. Rivers chose to throw into double coverage

Rivers having an extra 2 seconds to throw this season would have helped in those situations. I think I saw maybe 3 times all night where he was able to step up into the pocket. Even then, he had to rush his throws more than last season. It doesn't help his overall state of mind when he anticipates getting clobbered on every passing play.

Phil had some open recievers. Just seemed ....especially on that last drive that he was trying to get a big play or a penalty.

He had Henry wide open for an easy 10-12 yards yards but threw deep to Patton for some reason. That last drive was very frustrating the way it went with 3 timeouts.

                        • Rivers sucked on the last drive, but I want to know where all those wide open receivers were, cause I couldn't find them.

HH got open twice. One pass to him was tipped and the other was the boneheaded deep ball, where HH would have been the easy completion. That's about it. Nobody was getting quick separation.

When the ball has to come out 2.5 or 2 sec after the snap, PR is only getting about 1.5-ish seconds to make a decision. Pile blame on PR - he deserves a bunch of it - but Jesus Christ, the Oline has to block up a 4 man rush for more than 2 freaking seconds!
