Urban Meyer is back in football -- with a new twist.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Thursday they have hired the three-time national championship-winning coach to be their next head coach.

With the move, Meyer is again leaving retirement and the comfortable confines of the broadcast booth for a headset and the sideline.

"This is a great day for Jacksonville and Jaguars fans everywhere," Jaguars owner Shad Khan said. "Urban Meyer is who we want and need, a leader, winner and champion who demands excellence and produces results. While Urban already enjoys a legacy in the game of football that few will ever match, his passion for the opportunity in front of him here in Jacksonville is powerful and unmistakable. I am proud to name Urban Meyer the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars."

Im not surprised nor really care that Meyer is gone since we had zero news going on with him. Kinda relieved actually. I ve read where he stated once that he could never be a coach like the ones he pointed out that had records of like 74-58. My guess is his headaches start up again next season in Jax.
