For that one missing piece or the right QB1 yeah, trade the farm. But is Baby Bosa the missing piece?
Defense wins championships.
Chargers would have 2 top 5 DE.
These 2 guys would wreck the offensive gameplan of opponents. And with Murray & James flying around, your talking about upgrading to a potential #1 defense in all of football. And dont forget you have to defend QBs like Mahomes and Watson and Jackson if your going to win the AFC. Another Bosa at DE moves the needle much more than a couple future draft picks that are highly unlikely to net a player of Nick Bosa caliber.
And the timing is good. You have a 1st rd pick QB that is starting his rookie deal. And another 1st rd LB starting his rookie deal. You wont have to worry about extending them for 4 years.
There were fans a few years ago posting to draft Mahomes or Watson. Lets them sit a season and move on from Rivers. Many fans responded that that was not smart to use a 1st rd on QB who would sit. They wanted a player that would help right away. They wanted to keep building around Rivers. It wasn't a wrong or bad opinion. But it sure wasn't a big bet or an aggressive move. It was a status quo move, imo.
It didn't work out.
The move up for Murray is the type of move that moves the needle.....if they hit on that bet. Adding star potential to linebacker unit that lacked a star player. I want them to keep betting big and eventually push all in and try to win it all
Finding a way to acquire Nick Bosa is a big bet.
The type of bet that wins big when it hits.
If small bet hits, then you get small wins but no Lombardi Trophy. And the point is to get to the top of the mountian and win it all. At some point you have to be willing to risk it all to get to the top.

Bosa will be a lot more effective with a stronger IDL and a bit more from the other edge. First get better early down run support up the middle so third downs are 7 and 8 instead of 2 and 3. Looks like we strengthened early down IDL and got a real ILB finally.
Next, get some more pressure on pass downs from somewhere besides just JB. Mel/Nwosu need to step up, lets see Tilllery come into his own with JJ. Its pretty normal for IDL to take a couple years to develop, Pro OL have such better technique than college OL, the college tricks don’t work and they aren’t head and shoulders physically better like in college.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

So it looks like Joey's cap number really stayed the same for 2020 after the extension. Looks like the bolts are still in good salary cap shape to lock up Keenan this summer.
Not paying the QB really gives the team a lot of options.
If they can lock Keenan up that means they just need to make decisions with Mel and Henry after the season. Not bad.

Besides this team doesn't need more superstar players on defense. What they need is a OL unit that plays as cohesive unit and blocks better than a great deal of teams. I can name on 1 hand the number of OL units we've had that were Elite. The 2006 squad(as far as I've been a fan) and that led to easily the best squad we've ever had.

Nice video stream chat with Bosa up on Chargers.com. Really a likable player. Sure disses Tyrod though (without meaning, too I think). Interviewer even calls him out on it one time.
TGLike, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Thought this was a good sign about our current players, coaches, and TEAM.
“Yeah, we spent every waking hour together the past six months, so obviously we have conversations like that,” Nick Bosa said when asked about potentially pairing with his brother.
“We were pretty confident that the Chargers were going to help get it done,” the 2019 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year added when discussing Joey Bosa’s new contract. “I’m really happy they did. Joey loves his team and his teammates, so he’s happy. He’s just happy to be stress-free and able to just go to work now.”My 2021 Adopt-A-Bolt List

I wouldn't be against the Bosa brother playing together, but if I was a GM my first option is to try and get a player with more complimentary skills. The Bosa's are both similar types of players. Good hand use, moves guys. It would be nice to try and get some guys with better speed/quickness off the edge and/or more power rushers to compliment Joey more.
