    Tranquil replaced by....

The same guy who replaced him in college. Asmar Bilal.

    Hope Drue has full recovery.

Whew. When Tranquill was put on IR I was concerned that we weren't going to have enough Notre Dame alums on the roster.

Don't sleep on Vigil though. Decent LB in space. 111 tackles (60 solo), 5 pass deflections and 1 INT last year. Former RB with a Combine 6.73 3-cone (Tomlinson had a 6.84). Not sure how we got this kid from Cincy.

I agree with you. This was a great signing for cheap. Not sure why but glad. I think Bilal follows the Tranquil path of playing special teams and seeing if he can work his way on to the field. I have not seen him play, but reading about him sounds like he is more athletic than Drue but maybe not as football savvy.

He looked decent out there last week. With more reps he will only get better. (I hope)

                Pretty sure its already posted:

He does not appear to be a LB you need to hide behind a good line. He appears to be a high IQ LB that can makes plays in space. Fundamentally sound playing his gaps. Excellent play recognition at 3:08 mark.

When the doctor goes from talking about recovery time to telling you about his most recent golf game, it's going to be awhile...

He was getting beat to the corner by Mixon, who was getting into the secondary untouched and didn't do a good job of stepping up and taking on blocks in the hole on inside runs. Vigil is an adequate backup, but is not that good as a regular player. Again, a lot of pretty average LB put up great stats, but when you watch them, leave a lot of be desired in terms of what they leave on the field.

Hey man you're messing up my fantasy of us finding a gem LB from parts unknown.....well actually Utah State.
