But only one TFL. Id like to see Murray in backfields a little more often.

The young rookie is leading our defense in total tackles. Splash plays to come soon enough!!

Leading tackles doesnt always mean great play. imo. He should be fine. Would have loved to bring in Blake Martinez at MLB and use Murray on the weak side. Blake is all he was supposed to be for the Giants. Stud. Smart player.

At this point, Murray is at the point he would have been in a regular season at the end of TC. Most rookie LB don't make splash plays, and if they do, they typically come on late.

The argument I always make, ILB is not really a "splash play" position. Very, very few ILB are going to make much of an impact, because of where they align and how offensive football is played. And even if he is going to be the next Darius Leonard, it is likely to take some time.

It's even tougher if the DT are not playing well. After a OK start, they are not doing all that well. It tough for LB to make a lot of plays at the line if they have to attack the blockers and then make a tackle. If they can attack the gaps, they have a chance. Murray has to wade through a lot of trash before he can get to the ball, and that just slows him down a step or two. I think he is playing well, but he is not likely to be a real impact guy, at least not this season.
