LAC @ New Orleans Saints Game Day and Post Game Thread (Week 5)

Let's get this started early this morning. Can't wait to see how Herbie performs on the national stage. Sad that Booger will not be providing his "unique" commentary tonight.

Sean Payton suspending Michael Thomas for this game is an act of arrogance IMO. I think he thinks he can make an example of Thomas without costing a win because it's only the Chargers and he can beat us anyway without his best player. Does anybody think he would suspend Thomas this week if the Saints were playing the Chiefs? Make him pay for his arrogance Mr. Herbert.

My score prediction is 34-27 Chargers. The Saints' defense is not very good.

      Bring it on.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I wouldn't say it is arrogance. The guy punched a teammate in the face. He is probably trying to take some discipline measures now to help avoid worse discipline from the league later on.

I understand that Payton has to impose discipline and I believe he is doing the right thing. But do you think he would have suspended Thomas for this game if the Saints were playing the Chiefs, or the Packers or the Seahawks?

The first thing that came to my mind was that he was using it as an excuse to give him another week to recover from his injury.

Yeah, I do. With the trouble Payton had with the league before I think he probably has to walk a fine line and show some disciplinary control from the team level.
