What has he done? No division championships and a couple WC wins. Herbert was nice but if Telesco continues to ignore the oline it may not matter. Special teams? If that’s where there’s supposed to be some depth he gets a F.

I don’t know what his contract status is but he needs to feel the heat too.

And the one playoff game was because KC benched their starters and Ryan Succop missed a FG (that the Chargers had a penalty on the refs missed) and than Weddle had that play on the punt where he did kind of fumble but the play was blown dead. Thats how the Chargers got that playoff game against Denver

So yes, his track record stinks. He also has been involved with TWO coaching hires and he doesn't deserve a third hire. He is probably the onlyk guy that could get Brian Kelly

Yup! The key is other than winning is winning your division. Construct your team and build your team to win the division. The last time I think we won the division I think L.T was still on the team FML!

Probably. Maybe its just that I am eternally optimistic but I see a lot of positives with the team. Players, cap space, draft picks.

Its coaching coaching coaching with some better personnel decisions.

We all want accountability, and we should. But how do the Chargers create a culture of accountability when the guy who runs Football Ops John Spanos never has to worry about getting fired?

To me that is the key. This team is NOT a mess. There is tons of talent on this roster and they have the two most important positions covered with superstar elite YOUNG talent (QB, pass rusher). And Derwin James coming back instantly transforms the whole defense. And this team has demonstrated, even with the injuries, that they can beat the top teams (at least through 3 quarters). A good HC can make this a winning team very quickly. When players go from being good to suddenly sucking (Badgley for instance) that is all coaching.

I know people hate Spanos family, but they are the opposite of terrible ownership. They are patient (too patient?), spend money (look at facts, Bosa highest paid defender, Keenan huge contract, guranteed contract for declining INgram), and they pretty much let the football guys make the football decisions.

The only negative is that this is a team without a true fan base. No one is going to show up to watch them play post pandemic. But they do play in an enormous market with all the hype that comes with it.

If I am an aspiring NFL HC, this is my FIRST choice of jobs.
