Yup doesn’t complain if he never sees the ball and has to block the whole game. Pretty sure handed when his number is called. Some drops this year but nothing major. Good team player.

I still think this is a great idea for a thread, LC.

I would have bet on the Raiders earning a wildcard in Week 1, but injuries doomed them. Still, their methods are all strong.

Al Davis preached that you must build with OT and CBs, first. You can see it in Davis's drafts going back to the 1960s. That's a very sound philosophy and roster-building principle.

The Raiders invested in their offensive line, $50 million dollars, and even that didn't help. Our OTs and CBs need major addressing to run with the Raiders next season. Especially IF Gruden drafts a QB in this class.

John Gruden - the only coach in NFL history to have 3 different teams start the season 6-3 and not make the playoffs (to go along with starting the season 6-4 this year).

          SO, is the Raider model

A). paying top dollar for overpriced talking heads ...

          or

B). spend top dollar to shore up the offense at the expense of their D ...

          or

C). bring in lots and lots of vet players who look good on paper but have seen their best days, making the team look good in September, but not so good later on ...

These are tried and true formulas of the NFL as a whole. Not just the Raiders........

The third thing is the one teams need to look at closely. SO often, people sign players on the downside of career. Telesco did sign three players at or over 30: Joseph, Bulaga and Harris. Joseph has been excellent - the other two hard to say as injured. Telesco brought back Mike Pouncey-- with his injury history and age, that was questionable. Age might be helpful in the NBA but in the NFL - its not. If Telesco is again the GM - he needs to be mindful of the FA dollars he is spending. Its one thing to sign a guy that might be 31 as a special teamer to a $6m/2 type deal. But overall, he needs to look at age and injury history this offseason.

Personally I am on record as wanting Telesco to have signed Trufant to play CB as he was more used to the Gus Bradley defense and not bring back Pouncey.
