Thats a good name, William Jackson from the Bengals. And yes, yes, it would seem they will need to retain Mike Davis unless they have their sights on another CB. And for sure will have to sign another CB in free agency as well as draft a CB.

Ronald Darby would be a little more pricey, but he's younger and better.

I don't think Troy Hill's a fit on the outside -- he's too small (182 lbs) and not very fast (4.55).
But he's perfect in the slot for Staley's defense -- aggressive and a great tackler.
Mike Davis is a good boundary corner, but now we need a good field corner to compliment -- someone like Patrick Surtain.

In my personal cap spreadshet - I already have allocated $7m of cap space for Davis. So in my mind - they still have room for a bigger signing with that money.

Internally, they should spend the money to resign Davis and HH. An MW extension that free up more cap space this year would be great. If Jenkins isn’t too expensive, I would bring him back also. Big FA should be Linsley at OC. Then get some mid tier signings.

I think this is a solid plan. Linsley is an interesting one. His price has shot up the past couple weeks . I have read Baltimore, Miami, the Chargers, Cardinals, San Fran needs a Center - possibly KC. So he will have options. So Telesco needs to be ready with alternatives at Center ; Guards might be easier to come by

For the record - the Chargers could afford HH, Davis and Jenkins with just cutting Trai Turner and still had money left for a free agent or two. Now they are very comfortable. And if they can get MW signed - they should have zero problems.

Yeah we may be outbid by some other teams with regards to Linsley. Another backup option is David Andrews. We could also spend money on a bridge OT like Reiff and defensive pieces for Staley, and draft IOL and OC instead.
