Great coach. Terrible news and Alzheimer's disease has to be just an awful experience for a person and their family. My aunt is experiencing dementia and it is taking big toll on my dad's health caring for her. Much respect for anyone who has or is dealing with this disease.

I lost my mom to dementia/Alzheimer's in 2018 after a five year battle. It is a ROUGH road, for everyone involved. No one should have to leave us this way, it is the cruelest side of nature for sure. My heart goes out to Marty and his family...

I remember those Chargers teams he coached as being physical and quite fun / entertaining to watch! I just wish I could thank Marty for the many fond memories he brought to the Chargers during his tenure..

So sad. Lost my dad and other family members and just a month ago, my neighbor to this. Don't know which is worse, losing your physical health or losing your mental health.

I think Marty was a great coach and a great man. I absolutely hated the guy in both Cleveland and KC, but boy did he grow on me when he became Chargers' coach.
