Clemson posts pro day numbers … Pretty good sized crowd at the Clemson Pro Day earlier today. For the record, the school has published their ‘official’ numbers from the workout. Star RB Travis Etienne, for example, measured in at a solid 5-10, 215, which is a good size for a guy with his speed and explosion. According to the school data, Etienne timed in the 4.42 range for the 40, with scouts from several teams they had him in around 4.45. That included a 1.56-second ten-yard split that would have been middle of the pack at last year’s combine. According to reports from the pro day WR Cornell Powell also looked good. He was a chiseled 6-0, 204, had a 36.5″ vertical and timed in the low 4.5 range for the 40. Fellow WR Amari Rodgers also timed in the low 4.5 range for the 40, but wasn’t as quick or as athletic in some of the other drills. And at 5-9.5, 212, which is a bit of an odd-size for a wideout, Rodgers was also asked by some teams to participate in some of the RB positional drills. On the other hand, OT Jackson Carman did not work out today presumably because of some injury and instead will workout at a private on-campus on April 15th. For the record, Carman, a second-day candidate, measured in at 6-4.5 and 317 pounds, but with only 32.5″ arms, which is less than ideal and could have some teams looking at him more as an OG prospect.

**Note(s): Heights are listed in four-digit format, with the first digit representing feet, the middle digits representing inches, and the final digit representing eighths of an inch. 40-yard dash times are consensus times from NFL scouting personnel in attendance (not unofficial times aired on live broadcast)

I know many of these have already been posted.

        Friday, March 5

        Kansas

        RB Pooka Williams Jr.

        Height: 5'9″ (13th percentile)
        Weight: 175 (1st)
        Arm: 30 3/4″ (39th)
        Vertical: 31.5 (13th)
        Broad jump: 118 (41st)
        Bench: 4 reps (0)
        40-yard: 4.38 (96th)
        3-cone: 7.02 (54th)

        Tuesday, March 9

        Northwestern

        T Rashawn Slater

        Height: 6'4″ (OT: 13th percentile, G: 51st percentile)
        Weight: 304 (OT: 18th, G: 23rd)
        Arm: 33″ (OT: 13th, G: 37th)
        Bench: 33 reps (OT: 96th, G: 90th)
        40-yard: 4.88 (OT: 97th, G: 98th)
        3-cone: 7.48 (OT: 83rd, G: 87th)

The size and arm length were as expected, and they do Slater no favors when it comes to his projection at tackle at the next level. However, he did verify his status as an athletic freak.

One of the most technically advanced prospects we have seen at the position, he pairs those outstanding testing numbers with outstanding collegiate production. In his last year at Northwestern, Slater posted a 90.0 PFF grade and allowed just five pressures in 11 games in his final collegiate season. Teams should be at peace with Slater’s size after this pro day. He is going to hold up at tackle in the NFL.

        CB Greg Newsome II

        Height: 6'0″ (66th percentile)
        Weight: 192 (51st)
        Arm: 31 1/8″ (41st)
        Vertical: 40 (91st)
        Broad jump: 123 (55th)
        Bench: 18 (85th)
        40-yard: 4.37 (91st)
        Short shuttle: 4.28 (31st)
        3-cone: 6.94 (49th)

Newsome just made himself a whole lot of money with his pro-day performance and is legitimately making a case to be the third corner off the board in April. He is an exceptional all-around athlete who was also a great all-around lockdown corner in Northwestern’s zone-heavy defense.

Newsome made ample plays from off coverage and held up at the line of scrimmage on the few opportunities he had in press-man coverage. Last year for the Wildcats, Newsome allowed just 93 yards and five first downs on 223 coverage snaps while making eight plays on the ball. He can play in any scheme at the next level and is now likely to hear his name called in Round 1.

        LB Paddy Fisher

        Height: 6'3″ (91st percentile)
        Weight: 240 (60th)
        Arm: 33 (80th)
        Vertical: 32 (17th)
        Broad jump: 110 (10th)
        Bench: 20 (41st)
        40-yard: 4.91 (3rd)
        Short shuttle: 4.47 (13th)
        3-cone: 7.00 (68th)

        EDGE Earnest Brown IV

        Height: 6'4″ (75th percentile)
        Weight: 270 (73rd)
        Arm: 34.5 (88th)
        Vertical: 31 (23rd)
        Broad jump: 115 (42nd)
        Bench: 25 (74th)
        40-yard: 4.95 (11th)
        Short shuttle: 4.5 (28th)
        3-cone: 7.25 (46th)

        Kansas State

        EDGE Wyatt Hubert

        Height: 6'3″ (43rd percentile)
        Weight: 265 (62nd)
        Arm: 31 (4th)
        Vertical: 33 (41st)
        Broad jump: 110 (16th)
        40-yard: 4.93 (13th)
        Short shuttle: 4.28 (78th)
        3-cone: 7.03 (77th)

For PFF Big Board rank, round projection and further prospect analysis, click here.

        Wisconsin-Whitewater

        iOL Quinn Meinerz

Height: 6'3″ (19th percentile among guards)
        Weight: 320 (79th)
        Vertical: 32 (90th)
        Broad jump: 111 (90th)
        40-yard: 4.86 (99th)
        Short shuttle: 4.47 (93rd)
        3-cone: 7.33 (97th)

Meinerz hasn’t played a down for D-III Wisconsin-Whitewater since the 2019 season due to COVID-19 impacting their 2020 campaign, but his draft stock has skyrocketed in recent months. He dominated the Senior Bowl with the second-highest win rate in one-on-ones among all interior offensive linemen and just crushed his pro day.

Every single one of those testing numbers from Meinerz surpassed the 90th percentile among interior offensive line prospects historically. Teams are unlikely to take chances on small-school prospects early in the 2021 NFL Draft, but Meinerz looks like an exception to that.

Greg Newsome checks off a lot of boxes for me. All that athleticism. He plays with urgency, and will definitely tackle ya, too.

Even before today most knowledge commentators have projected Carman as a G, not a tackle. Regardless of his arms, his lateral mobility is not up to snuff.

Larry Borom’s another one. Highest rated OT in the SEC last year, but his athleticism isn’t gonna cut it at the next level.

Borom has put together a strong junior season, ranking as one of the top-gradedlinemen in the Southeastern Conference by Pro Football Focus. He's the SEC'ssecond-rated offensive tackle overall with a season grade of 83.0 and has the highest pass-blocking grade (84.5).”
Our quarterback is a golden god.
