Looking at Smith's stats, had some passes defensed and a lot of tackles in 2017-18...don't know why his stats tailed off the last 2 years...looks like decent depth at CB which we can use...not to mention stellar ST skills...UPDATE: Looks like Smith was a starter in 2017-18, and a backup the last 2 years...someone commented on another forum that Smith in coverage was a liability...still even if true, the ST value alone is key...

The Chargers luck in recent years? He'll pull a hammy in the first preseason game, and struggle to get healthy all season.

Yes, so far I think he has done pretty well. He has addressed the two biggest areas of need: OL and Special Teams - in terms of personnel additions. Still has some work for CB and LT to be sure. TE has taken a step back probably but if OL and Special Teams are better - will take that all day.
