Jonnu is younger, less injury history, better blocker, more explosive.

HH’s a better route runner, better technician, and more well-rounded.

Different TEs, but similar overall value, as seen by their new contracts.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

I would have preferred to keep Jenkins and Henry while dropping MW. But what’s done is done. Here’s hoping for the best.

I like this pick, but doubt his 5-position aspirations. I see him as 3-position depth (R/LG and RT). Doubt he can master all of those while trying to learn to be an NFL Center, which is a very complex nuanced position. Q will be depth at C this year and honestly I think Q holds up ok there as backup.

Long term Future - beats me, lets see if he can play one of the positions well first. I would not bet on hm winning a starting spot to open the season. He definitely looks like an NFL player, and he played against big boys as a starter for 4 yrs. solid preparation. Good pick on paper.

Think most here would agree. I definitely would’ve.

I don’t think anyone is saying he is going to be OC2 but he has the chops to cover if a rash of injuries occur in game.
3/4 years down the road he very well could be a starter at a variety of positions.

Yep. I like to think of it this way:

It coulda been a little better.
But it coulda been a lot worse.

Our off-season score was about 92%,
              which is damned good.

Might just be me but there seem to be a good number of OL that develop out of later rounds that become good to pro bowl players. Seems with good coaching and technique some can really grow into being a strong contributer on lines. This guy has every opportunity to learn and work his way in to a lineup especially with injuries being common on OLs. If he can be a swing guy that develops thats all I can ask...he will get play time.

I didn’t imply someone here said it. He said he’s a 5-position player. But ok, I’ll play. Who or what shows he has the chops to play OC in the NFL?

We are at data point zero as far as I know, but I learn things here every day from the wise ones ... which is why I tune in. TPB is the best charger news and analyses source in the world.

I’ve seen TEs play OL when there were enough injuries. I’ve seen right fielders pitch after a manager ran thru his available arms. We’ve all seen a lot of things that don’t really prove the next half of the sentence.

For me Jaimes can play any IOL with development considering movement skills/COD agility, excellent hand/feet synchronization techniques, limited length mitigated playing inside, high end football IQ, and his ability to strike 2nd/3rd level defenders.
He needs to add mass and develop his strength/power profile but nearly all college prospects do for any position.

I see Jaimes as a RT.....sure, check him out at guard until Bulaga leaves.
