    Jamies
    - been snapping heading into draft prep to be able to play all 5 position (love that)
    - a very high football IQ
    - intelligent consumer of opponent game tape and possess the ability to factually break it down
    - understands how to apply different techniques to keep defenders off balance
    - smooth operator in phone booth and space
    - excellent recovery ability
    - has some nasty in him
    More on Jaimes:

    Overview
Jaimes offers value as an early swing tackle with experience on both the left and right sides. He appears to have the athletic ability to play left tackle even though his length and anchor strength are a little below average. He's fairly savvy in pass protection and operates with good mirroring control and technique to stay in front of rushers. He plays with active hands and feet in protection, but needs to apply that same activity in the run game, where he can do a better job of improving his block sustains with hand resets and post-contact footwork. Jaimes has some things to clean up, but the tape isn't bad. He could hear his name called in the middle rounds and offers roster flexibility as a swing tackle with the potential to also play guard.

    Strengths
    • Very durable, making 40 consecutive starts for Nebraska.
    • Has starting experience at both tackle positions.
    • Quality lateral foot quickness.
    • Able to set out on top of rushers when he needs to.
    • Throws combos like a boxer to maintain his feel for the rusher.
    • Choppy, controlled footwork to mirror and slow inside counters.
    • Athleticism to open hips and recover at top of the rush.
    • Maintains pad level and knee bend.
    • Plays with body control and second-level adjustments.
    • Rolls hips through initial contact.
    • Uses inside hands into the frame.
    • Accelerates feet through angle blocks to create block security.
    Weaknesses
    • Defenders successfully cross his face with slants.
    • Needs better landmarks and angles in first attack.
    • Base will narrow out on move blocks.
    • Sustain would benefit from better reset of hands and post-block footwork.
    • Below-average length diminishes opportunity to cinch up after punch.
    • Plays with nose out past toes a little too often.
    • Would benefit from better weight distribution to prevent falling forward.
    • Upper body gets ahead of his feet at times on lateral movements.
    • Rush anchor is below average.

This is a good pick. His presence forces Bulaga to step up at RT (especially with his injury history) and make the guy acquired from Detroit work for the starting guard spot. Even if he doesn't start right away, he's in a good position to eventually take whatever spot is available to him.

That’s really interesting. In his interviews, he talks about changing his angles of attack to confuse the defender. He likes to give the defenders different looks to confuse their game plan for attacking him.

in the pros, every OT drops straight back to get some depth. He does that too, but at times he’ll move laterally to engage the defender more quickly. I’m curious to see how this will work out in the pros.

He seems to have a really good grasp of the game within the game of playing OT. Just outsmart the defender with unexpected moves.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

As a fifth round pick, I'm pretty sure he will do anything the coaches ask. TBT!

Jaimes has stated that he was working on his snapping ability to show his versatility to play all 5 OL positions.
It is possible his starts this season @ORG and if not what a valuable backup to have available to cover all spots.

Jaimes will have some nice vet tutors with Lindsley, Beluga and Feiler...

At pick #97, I was sure we’d grab either Quinn Meinerz as an heir to Linsley or Elijah Molden as an heir to CHJr. They were both available.

Really hoping McKitty works out, otherwise I’m always gonna be bitter about those guys, unless, of course, they become busts.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

                        Ifeatu Melifonwu was there too.

Maybe but Jaimes as a starting OG with ability to get us out of a game at either OT or OC is his likely role going forward.
