Welcome Brenden Jaimes, OG/OT Nebraska (Pick #159)

    Pre-Draft Analysis

Jaimes is an effective zone blocker with good quickness and foot speed. He's tough to shake when he gets his inside, but he needs to play with better body control, and he gives too much ground at times in pass pro. -- Steve Muench

Brenden Jaimes played left tackle at Nebraska and displayed adequate athleticism with regard to his quickness and body control. In the run game, he is strong and stout at the point of attack. He does a good job of getting his feet in the neutral zone and getting vertical movement. He also shows adequate athleticism in his pass set. He has enough agility to suffice on the edge at the collegiate level. As a result, I believe he could maximize his potential at guard or even suffice at right tackle in the NFL.

      Ideal Role: Backup multi-positional lineman.

      Scheme Fit: Power running scheme.

Because they project him to be a very good guard in the zone scheme system.

He's tall for a guard but good scheme fit for a 4 position backup. 5th rounder is a 5th rounder.

Because either they don't value them as much as you do, or they see several safeties are willing to wait on.

Yeah, he's multi position depth. They can use that
                    .
I don't expect him to start anytime soon, if ever.

I like those guys too....but all it takes is for Staley to believe he can salvage Adderley, and think him better than either of those 5th rounders, and they become redundant. We really needed oline depth.

3 out of 4 surfboards. Tackle feet at guard. A solid pick.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
