After 1 game everyone has about the same number of live reps regardless of pre season strategy.

First 2-3 weeks of NFL are sloppy and chaotic for 90% of the league for as long as I can remember.

I still like his aggressiveness. But I don’t like the lack of run attempts in the red zone. Especially when the RT was so awful at pass blocking (better at run block).
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

      - 69-74 record
      - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
      - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
      - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
      - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
      - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
      - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

Lombardi saw all the runs like year and went too far in the opposite direction lol.

could be more runs mixed in, but overall i like the plays he has designed.

The plan going in was probably designed on the ass u mption that we could pass block against their backups. Little did anyone expect our line to struggle so much against their backups.

Agree. He’s got the players up to speed quickly, and in the last 3 weeks the play calling has been magnificent.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

And like Fleet tweeted out... Raiders, hands off Joe Lombardi.

Overall very pleased. I do think he can improve on play calling on first and second downs and I would like to see us stretch the field a little more consistently. For the most part it definitely seems like the only thing slowing down this offense is our own miscues. Great improvement in the red zone from the first couple weeks as well.

Joe may get HC consideration after this season. What do you think?

I don't know. He's not a wonderkind like Staley. His previous stint as OC didn't go well, then he returned to Payton's staff and lingered there for years as Drew's QB coach. His offense is having a great season, so far. But then when you come into a situation with a generational talent at QB and WRs like Allen and Williams and an Ekeler and ownership goes out and spends the money to put together one of the best OLs in the league, you kind of expect the offense to do well. Personally I'd want to see how Lombardi does for more than year, and also he'd be a more attractive candidate after spending multiple years with Staley, soaking up some of his knowledge. I don't know if he will be a hot HC candidate this off-season, but I really don't know, I've been wrong plenty of times.
