The Chargers stack up well against the Chiefs. We have a poor run defense but a pretty good pass defense. The Chiefs don't run the ball well, their strength offensively is the passing game.

But our poor run defense made Pollard look like an All Pro. I can assure you that if we are that porous on run D, that the Chiefs will exploit it.

A losing culture doesnt disappear with an offseason or in two games..... it takes one full season at least...

Norv Turner was a big proponent of the 5 year plan.

This team has talent....it has gaps for sure, but so does 90 % of teams in the NFL
A losing season this year would have the team under performing in my estimation.
If the team loses tight games against good teams, where the ball doesn't bounce their way.....that's okay.

I can think of successful head coaches who would lose starting out, but they all lacked talent.
I can't think of a successful head coach who started off losing with decent talent.

Staley, and coaching staff, have one year to demonstrate they belong;
if not, i will temper my expectations drastically for next year.

Herbert will be starting his 19th game - wait, 18th games - this Sunday.

Stafford is playing in his what his 12th season and has had issues "winning games" over his career. Great arm - can make all the throws but lets see how he does in LA

I think we need to give Herbert some time. I will say this - he made some throws Sunday that not too many QBs in the NFL can make on Sunday. I get thats physical. Now the mental aspect of the game needs to get better. Maybe not lock in on say Keenan on the play he fell when Justin was open in teh flat; needs to limit turnovers. But I think he gets better over time

I think the team should finish above .500 - so thats 9 wins
I think hopefully the team improves and like you say - have close games along the way.
Special Teams need to improve though

Run defense, needs to improve

Staley’s defense is built to stop KC’s explosive passing plays. But that requires Execution and discipline. That’s how we beat the Chiefs.

Also need to be able to pressure Maholmes up the middle and nobody on this dline will be able to do that

We have to score when we're in the red zone. The only way we win this one is to outscore them because we won't stop that offense.

If they don't help Norton, the Chiefs will move Jones over him and it will be brutal. If they do help Norton and we don't blow it with penalties, we are capable of scoring on this team and doing it by eating clock and keeping the Chief's best players on the sidelines. But, we have to score TD's in the RZ, not FG's. Don't know if our guys can it, but that's what it will take.
