We NEED A Backup Running Back

If Eckler ever gets injured, we're a .500 team. If the Ravens can get 3 new RBs in a month, we should be able to pick up 1. Practice squad RBs are not going to cut it!

We are used to Ek going down. Yes it changes things but it doesnt shut our offense down it just changes it.

I think what we have is ok as backups. Its a cap game…how much do you pay when you have premium positions to pay for?

Also one that can stuff the run on D.

Seriously, though, my concern for this season was depth, but depth at RB wasn't one of them, because of all the other weapons on Offense. There might be a huge drop in production after Ekeler, but Ekeler is a special back. At this point of the season, it's going to be hard to find someone in football shape to step in for Ekeler.

Don't agree with the OPs second post here. Ek isn't the difference in us winning 12 games or 8 games. He is a weapon for sure but we would just attack different.

Get more TEs involved and Kelly and JJ will get more passes if JJ is ever freaking healthy this year.

Clearly this is his last year with us so a RB should be drafted again next year.

In Ekeler's first three seasons, he played in 46 of 48 games. It was only last season he suffered a significant injury, yet he only missed six games. I think he has been really resilient.

First off welcome!!! I agree with the others. Yes it would be nice to have a better back behind Eck, but there are bigger priorities with this team IMO

Well I agree with you and have been arguing for a capable back up to Ekeler since the start of the season. Everything is roses right now with Ekeler performing so well (the fumble last week aside). But he gets a lot of touches, and that increases the odds for an injury. Nobody else on the roster can begin to fill his shoes as a runner and receiver. A week or two ago when it was reported that the Colts' Marlon Mack was possibly available, I was jumping up and down saying "let's do it!" He's a big powerful back who can run between the tackles and has been a decent receiver in his Colts career. He's on a one-year contract Indy for $2 million. And he would only cost a low-round draft pick to acquire. Before the injury last year that cost him the season, he has been pretty resilient, playing in 40 of 48 games in his first three seasons. IMO, it would be a low-risk acquisition that potentially could pay high rewards. On the Chargers roster, Kelley or Jackson could be waived and re-signed to the practice squad to make room for Mack.

Ekeler started 11 games in spot starts those first 3 seasons, he started 10 last year and got hurt. Agree only last year he was injured often but he really isnt a work horse type. Id love for us to get a good rotational RB but not sure Roundtree is that guy. Its why i really liked Jovante Williams for us but oh well. We only have to stop him now when we play Denver :frown:

How many safties do we need? We have 5 on the roster.

                        I’d say about 24.
