    Classic Chargers To Enjoy

For those of you who watched the Chargers in the 70s-80s like me, this youtube was a really fun stroll down memory lane.

For those too young to have watched, please take a look at Dan Fouts and how he played against heavy pressure, at Winslow in his prime and at Chuck Muncie, who died too young and was one of my favorites. Cosell once called him a hoss. Also, if all you know about Terry Bradshaw is the old, fat version, here you get to see him play, even if it was near the end of his career. And it being Veteran's Day, nice to see Rocky Bleier who had half his leg and foot blown off by a land mine in VietNam and came back to play and play well when many said he would not even walk. His story is a great book...."Fighting Back" and I commend it to your reading.

If you never had the pleasure of watching Coryell on the sidelines, here is your chance. He was famous for looking constipated, you'll see what I mean. And also he really always seem disaffected to me during games. Doesn't talk to anyone, no headset, no play cards. But that was how it was in those days.

Also Glen Edwards had a lot of cheap shots, some of which got called. Irony is, he was acquired in a trade from the Steelers.

Hope you enjoy! To all our Vets, thank you for your service.

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Thanks Heat. I was pleasantly surprised to see the following game available as well... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWgcm8sExTo

The 1979 SD/PITT game was probably the most satisfying Chargers game I've ever seen.

The 1980 game or 1979? They were both great!

Season ticket holder here from those days. End zone Plaza right above where the Chargers came out of the tunnel. Had those for years and then later moved to about the ten yard line plaza. The end zone ones were better. I started going to games in 61 with my step father. Great times.

i was 10 years old during the 1979 season and the only game i can actually remember is the playoff game against the houston oilers. No earl campbell, no pastorini and no kenny burroughs, and yet they beat the chargers. shit !!!

i remember that the chargers scored a TD on their opening drive and then later had a FG blocked and returned for a TD. shit !!!

In that horrible Oilers game, Fouts threw 5 picks. Just an awful memory.

1979 game was the best. Defense played great. Went from can we be really good, to being really good.

Someone remember a Monday night game between Chargers and Steelers in the mid 80's ?
Absolutly no defense in that game. It was disappointing to score a FG.
If I remember right, the Chargers won about 52-46.

Fun! A bunch of HOF in that game. Good memories of a fun time for us Charger fans.

Gees, I'm a few minutes in and there's been like 4 turnovers already.

Did notice that Craig Colquitt is the punter for the Steelers. Guess it's the genes in that family.

The score that come to mind in my head was 54-44. I do remember watching the game in my room on my 13" black-and-white TV. Crazy game.
