I'd be surprised--- even shocked--- if the Chargers beat the Steelers. The referees will be a major factor. The referees will do what they can to give the Steelers every advantage in this game.

The Chargers will have to dominate the game from start to finish. Even then, it will be difficult. I've seen one of Pittsburgh's opponents have multiple touchdowns wiped out in a game. Phantom holding penalties and illegal blocks in the back are used by the refs to negate huge scoring drives against Pittsburgh.

The Steelers are one of the teams that the top brass in the NFL prefers to see win. The Steelers have more fans, and more people are interested football when the Steelers do well. It's the same thing as with the Cowboys. You have to beat the refs, too

Offense was good against EAgles, not so good against Vikings, missed some plays against the Pats
Defense is a work in progress

Just have to figure out a way to win
Staley might need to go back to going for it on 4th down - set a mindset early of winning
Herbert needs to be a bit more accurate and receivers need stick em or whatever but catch the ball
Defense - just need to play better and if its Mason Rudolph at QB - I am bringing more pressure not less - an all out blitz every passing play


Cowboys play the Chiefs - so they need to return the favor and beat the Chiefs on the road like they beat the Chargers

Bengals play Raiders - good for the Chargers - an AFC team will get a loss

Denver - bye week

So the Chargers can take care of business - might be in first place. At worst, still in the playoffs and would leapfrog the Steelers

At this point I would take a 6-3 with with a last second FG from Hopkins

That being said - a nice game where the offense moves the ball and scores; defense continues its improved run defense but the pass defense improves and a nice two score win would be ideal

'What is it everybody has been saying: All the teams in the league today are all built to be 8-8 well add the extra game. There seems to be a ring of truth to this. SO if this is true, just make the playoffs baby and anything is possible. WE ARE ON TRACK FOR THAT, if we continue to get better and stay healthy.

The Chargers are built and coached so everything is run through Herbert and put on him. This means Justin needs to complete a higher percentage of his passes most of the time to win the game. When he stays in the middle and near 50 percent, the Chargers are very beatable. This means our WR's always have to be on point.

It is sort of interesting the way these games coached by Brandon Staley play out. When they lose it is usually by 7 points or less. Didn't Anthony Lynn sort of do this as well?

The Good: We didn't get blown out, our Special Teams and Kicker look to be better than average. The Bad: The interception, our Oline wasn't so great. The Ugly: The CHARGERS history has always been the big plays and bombs away. We need to go deep at least 4 times a game. Our WR's need to step up and get some swaggggg going! Also Our D needs to do a better job against screens because they seem to go for 10 yards before the players on O are touched.

I like our chances against pit provided Herbert has a good completion percentage, and we go deep and look to make more big plays and please get TE Donald Parham more in the mix he is a big play TE and no one could really guard him.
