Film Study: The Good, The Bad and The Great (week13 vs CIN)

Welcome back Diehards. Another week of good football to digest. It was awesome to see a victory and not lose with big lead "same ole chargers"
There was many fine plays to choose from and some decisions i pondered for quite a while.

    The Good:
1st Quarter 12:50 on the clock ball on 45yrd line
Here we see Chargers in max protect. A designed shot downfield. Herbert sell the play action well and CIN safety bites on Allen crossing route leaving MDub open 1on1 on corner route who makes a highlight catch. This play came after hurry up and there was visible confusion on CIN defense. All their LB and safety covered Slayer. Notice the safety directing other CB to cover away from MDUb thinking he is running post. Great play design and execution

    The Bad:
2nd quarter 1:34 on the clock ball on 41yrd line
I dont know if the routes were deisgned bad or executed bad but watching Slayer and MDub run into each other is frowned upon. Mdub route also takes him too close to Palmers route and Herbert has to pull it down after seeing too many defenders in the area. Norton can only block for so long and gives up the sack.

    The Great:
Awesome effort from Nwosu. Dude did not give up the play and was rewarded with strip fumble. After Bosa gets double teamed again (as always) its good to see Nwosu step up and make a play. CIN did have 1 receiver open across the middle and another coming open late deep. Nwosu got there just in time and made me jump from my couch screaming "fumble!!!!!"

    Honorable mentions:

    Hon1
I have given Adderly alot of flack and wanted to give him some praise here. Dude flies to the ball

    Hon2
2pt conversion stopped with goal line stand. I love it and feel like this was turning point in game. Tell me you didnt cheer your head off here...

    As always
    luv ya

Thanks! Love it! Seriously one of the highlights of the week on this awesome board, so that is saying something.

Also, the two point conversion was broken up by Tranquil shooting the gap. Made the RB cut to the right and by then Nwosu (and Kyzir and DJ) had it walled off. Did not see that live. Great goal line defense there...

Excellent, Chili. I want to add this simulated pressure in Staley's designer blitz packages to the film room.

It is a joy watching this defense evolve into Staley's vision.

Nice work, Chili. Yes, on the Adderley play, the dude moved ALL THE WAY UP from deep safety to the LOS to make the tackle. Unreal...
