But if we want our team to be successful we have to get used to not being able to keep all the players, even those that the Chargers developed into really good ones.

Denial is expected otherwise you get pissed off

Did I mishear, Herbert mentioned he missed Henry?

Run defense worsened without Kyzir, that didn’t help.

Chena destroyed Chargers in that Seattle beat down and everyone here was thinking would be easy win. How embarrassing.

Expect Tranquill to exact his revenge twice a year and hopefully Kendrick’s is not IR?

But carry on with can’t keep all the good players when there back-ups are non-existent or worse.

Soon as Bosa went down, which wasn’t long, Chena (resigned) or Karlaftis (if drafted) could have filled that void, without complete disarray. Too lean @ dire need position.

Also figure out, how a 6th rd pick outperformed a 1st rd pick while your at it.

Tranquill is more injury prone. He will make a PD or two if healthy but is unlikely to be a game changer. We know him pretty well. He's never played vs Moore's Chargers offense.

How does this guy still have a job? 10 years, going on 11
        two wild card victories
        three playoff games in total
        under .500
eleven years and in all likelihood, zero division titles

and if this season progresses as it does - his moves this past spring will waste another 2 years of Herberts career since hte team will have to be blown up this offseason or you are extending players like Allen or Mack but they are only getting older...

Probably because he doesn't cost a lot and/or doesn't question his boss.

Can you think of ANY other franchise that would keep a GM around this long with that resume?

          In ANY sport?

Maybe they should re-allocate some of their funding OUT of their marketing department, stop making silly anime schedule release videos, stop with the documentary films, "All In" episodes, etc....and start trying to be serious about being a franchise.

                Agreed.

If Dean were truly serious about winning - his sons would be nowhere near that building into terms of football ops. And you are so right about the money they spent. I see those Anime videos - a lot of time and thought goes into those. Scouting - oh whatever. The fact that for the Raiders part of the anime what they created - that took a lot of time and thought. What a waste too - but hey Peter Shrager thought it was funny

That budget is probably tiny compared to the money spent on the players, which by most reports the Chargers spend near the cap. Would that million or so get you a top notch HC or GM?

I think the Chargers spend money where they have to to keep the business going. They are just mediocre at everything.

                    You're right. I'm only venting.

But it looks like amateur hour watching them pursue social media clout when they can't even get basic hires right.

So after Staley is fired, they will hire Kellen Moore to be the HC and he will keep calling plays. Only hope is Tom Telesco is out the door

                        Best case scenario:

                        1. Fire Staley
                        2. Moore to HC, calls plays
                        3. Fire Ainsley, hire a real DC with an actual track record as a DC multiple years in either NFL or college
                        4. Fire TT...hire a real asst. GM from a winning organization with multiple years in playoffs, plus good drafting record

                        That is all.
                        (For now...)

I'm totally serious here... In my own little perfect world...

                          Fire Staley, promote Moore.
Fire TT, hire TOM BRADY to be GM.

I assume Brady would bring the same level of work ethic and accountability into a GM position that he did on the field... If John Lynch can do it, so can Brady.
