Thanks I think I will be ok. Your story on the other hand is very unsettling. I will keep you in my prayers and send major TBP's mojo. Hey maybe someday we can go to DMAC's house and watch the Chargers in his theater room. Hopefully the super bowl. That would be epic.Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post
Great news Craig. Best of luck going forward.

The wife has one more treatment. They changed up the drugs on her because of.compllications and it's really kicking her ass . Chemo crash big time but she stays positive. She tells me the good lord isn't ready for.her yet. Bless her heart. She had almost 11 years of remission from her first bout of cancer. She's hoping for another 10 plus.Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post
Thanks Colorado. That's a tough one, sorry about your brother I have a good friend whose daughter died of melanoma at 30. Sad.
I had no idea you could even get it in on your eyeball until i went for an eye test and that led to a retina specialist which led me to an optic oncologist. I am under her watchful eye right now and we are walking the tightrope between waiting and treatment. Its early enough that it should not cost me my life (if it leaves the eye and gets in your blood you are done) which of course I am thankful for but i have to have it checked every 3 months. Right now I am lucky is hasn't grown lately but as soon as the margins or characteristics change in a way she doesn't like then its radiation treatment to nuke it...which will destroy my vision in that eye. That's the tightrope, just a matter of when, just trying to enjoy both eyes as long as I can.
I have kind have got my head around one eye at some point fairly soon but I have to share my very first thought of adjusting has been to close one eye to try to get a feel of what it will be like to watch Charger football on my 85 inch screen with one eye on Sundays! That is a true BOLT fan!! 😉
How is your wife doing?
CBF I wish you all the best and you will kick it. Positive thoughts, positive results.

Particularly with complicated and serious diseases, doctors can't forecast with a large degree of accuracy how a particular patient will respond to treatment.Originally posted by Topcat View Post
Some of these drugs have some serious side effects...in some cases, you're better off to avoid some of them...
Side effects are at times horrible, but then again, the disease being fought is likely lethal if left untreated. It's damned if you do and damned if you don't, sometimes.
My version of this is that I have serious muscle pain as a result of taking a cholesterol med ( a 'statin'.) On a good day, I feel like I played football three days ago. On a bad day, I feel like I played football yesterday. Working with my doctor on finding different meds, because right now, the treatment is worse than the disease.

Happy 4th of July to all of my fellow Charger brethren. Tomorrow kicks off my 65th trip around the sun and I'm looking forward to camp, the season and a Lombardi. It has to happen as we have the right pieces in place with Jim & Joe. The roster is not perfect, but what winner ever is? Win enough to make the playoffs, then go on a win streak until we hoist our first trophy. CHEERS!!!

Lost my Mom tonight. 1 week before her 79th birthday, her heart gave out.
I had the best conversation with her last night and she sounded great and strong.
My best friend.
