My wife of 50+ yrs and I have multiple decendents but one 27 yo grand daughter is struggling with divorce, 4 children by two men, 10 yrs- 1 yr, diabetes, mental health, etc. She and the kids are a problem that we can't ignore.
We have our own issues, having lived in a cabin in a recreational area in the mountains for @ 40 yrs. Gotta move to flat ground. Too many stairs. I mean gotta. It's just survival here. We're working to move, lots of junk, choices to make and need help with most of it, meanwhile putting out fires with the littles. No point in getting upset. Just do your best. Just wanted to give an update. My daughter went in for an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and the baby had no heartbeat. They said the baby passed less than 24 hours before the ultrasound. I now have 2 grandsons in heaven waiting for me (and the rest of our family). The other is a long story I won't go into now. This news was just a heartbreak.

If I am to praise the Lord during good times I will praise him during the bad times (which have been in abundance these last couple of years). When I was a teenager I knew that God had called me to be in the ministry but I spent my life loving him but not following the calling I knew he had on me. Now I am ministering to people of all ages who have dealt with loss in their lives. I keep the focus on God to help others and myself.

What more can be said than console your daughter and for her to begin again. Sarah eventually conceived well into her life, no?

So much death and sadness: only a new life can mend things. Have faith!

I don't toss around a lot of scripture, but feel led somehow to post Psalm 19:14, like someone will experience healing through it. Besides me, I mean.

"May the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer."

The most high and Messiah/father and son have changed my life.

Jim, Is your problem with stairs in your home or is it the terrain? If I had it to do over, I'd have a stair lift installed and continued to enjoy that house. So, if stairs is your problem, get a stair lift.

Jim, Is your problem with stairs in your home or is it the terrain? A few years back we had a really great two story home and I was having a lot of trouble with the stairs so I sold the house and bought a ranch style place. I've regreted it ever since. If I had it to do over, I'd have a stair lift installed and continued to enjoy that house. So, if stairs is your problem, get a stair lift.

Thanks for your thoughts. I've considered it. It's also terrain and fire danger. We're at the edge of Stanislaus Nat'l Forest. Fire insurance has been canceled everywhere in Ca with the exception of a State fund that's both expensive and unreliable Particularly since the LA fires..There are stairs to the house from parking that get up to 3 feet of snow on occasion and stairs in the house to our living area. It was great when we were raising two boys. Private lake & rec area, forest trails nearby. It's not the house so much that we like but the area.
We really like where we're at but it doesn't make sense for oldies.

I feel the need to at least say my struggles are not health related. Im a beast right now. lol Its more mental and how i react to drama. And family drama is absolutely brutal on me. Its just the style of communication. I get so triggered. I try to be calm in the face of rage. My sibs have been sort of divided for a while now. There is just a lot of bad blood. I try so hard to manage our Hawaii homes and manage these things. But its just never enough.

Im fine. I just dont know that my long term desire to be here is worth the drama that comes with it. Family business. I stayed out of for years. Did my own thing.

Its just communication. Resentments. And i can go to a very dark place mentally when i am down on a family member who i perceive as a total prick or asshole. I am not that way. I am as Aloha as it gets. I just cant process others anger.

Good vs evil thing for me. lol.

The Bible says if we give our best and the problem can't be resolved, we should give it to Jesus. He has broad shoulders and is always happy to help. The trick here, is not to keep taking it back from Jesus. Trust Jesus and he will take care of the problem for you.
