The reality is that while ST did improve in the season, we went from awful to mediocre. Add in a missed fg and a fumbled punt that led to a TD and that is 10 points we shit the bed on in the most important game of the season.

Yeah, the special teams did not have a good game against LV, but Hopkins was good for us over the season and the miss against LV was from 51, which, while well within his range, was not the easiest of FGAs. Roberts was good for us too. The fumble was just an unfortunate one-off.

I am not sure what coaching did to make those plays turn out so poorly.

I mean, crap, I do not care for Lombardi, but even I am not going to blame him for a pick 6 when Cook suddenly stops running his route and the throw goes right to the defender that was where Cook should have been.

Sometimes there are coaching issues, but the players still need to execute.

But Chris Tabor did go to the Panthers and he was a rumored name for the Chargers in the beginning.

Interesting that John Harbaugh replaced Wink with Jim Harbaugh’s DC from Michigan, who Jim got from the Ravens. Jim had his best season with McDonald. Does he now hire Wink?
