Definitely hit the Arromanches Museum and Pointe Du Hoc Rangers Monument.
We hired a tour guide, but you could also just drive the area in your own car.
The surrounding areas celebrate English, American, and Canadian visitors like royalty.

My draft number was around 105 and I was never called up. Thank heavens.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I just missed getting drafted. The exit from Saigon occurred a month after my 18th birthday.

Thank God for morons. Without them who would the rest of us have to blame things on?

I really feel for you guys. That war seemed like a lot of bullshit from someone who wasn't there.

How long have you lived in Palm Springs? I came to the Coachella Valley in late 1986 when Palm Springs still allowed the women to wear nothing but g-strings. I guess those were the good ol days. ha

I've been here for 18 years. Grew up in Orange county. Moved out here from Corona to get away from an x-wife. Grew to love it here. Every place in the world has 3 months of some sort of bad weather. Here you have to lay in the pool when it gets bad and there are still places where the girls wear less than that.

I grew up in Villa Park, CA from 1976 to 1981.Then went to the Army. Neither was for me. I much prefer the pace of the desert. Currently residing in Palm Springs.

I grew up in Yorba Linda before it was fashionable. Great place to grow up back then. Drove raggedy old pickups to the beach when we were in 8th grade, almost got caught a few times but sheriff just laughed and let us pass. Rode motorcycles and hunted rabbits and such in the hills. Great adventures for a kid.

I guess Orange County was largely made of Orange groves in those times. At least Villa Park was. And Yorba Linda is close by.
