Allowing a RB to get 3.1 yards downfield before contact is not a tackling issue. The yards after contact is the tackling issue.

You extend the contract of bad players like Corey Liuget and Donald Butler, ignore requests to meet with one of your few good defenders about contract re-negotiations so that he stops trying so hard, and do basically fuck-all when it comes to making real changes to the defensive front. Yay Telesco and Spanos.

Maybe it was Pagano's fault - perhaps he should have put 11 players in the box.

Liuget the isn't a bad player and if Weddle really isn't trying like a few posters here keep insisting (which I don't believe) than he absolutely should not have gotten a contact extension and Tlesco should be applauded for that.

Weddle is trying not to get injured, which he wouldn't be so worried about if Spanos's people had at least talked with him.

You can applaud Telesco and Liuget all you want, but they have roles in that terrible run defense you were asking about.
