Brady went in round 6. It's an inexact science

The draft is a weird event. There are overdrafts and underdrafts every year.

Why was Tom Brady drafted in the 6th or so? Why did NE take a 3rd round rated guard in the 1st? Or any of the Bolt's collection of 3rd round overdrafts?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

That's the understatement of understatements. Sometimes I think they are just playing darts, while doing tequila shots.

Yes it is. I remember Mike Riley was the Bolts HC during that draft and he wanted to take Brady. He was overruled though. That said, it certainly does not mean Brady would have had near the career he has had if he had been drafted by SD. Being the right fit for the system you're in can make a big difference.

            Yup.
Add a pinch of spygate and suddenly you're ahead of the game.

What was his record (pressures / sacks allowed) in preseason?

I don't know. But I do know that he had his bad moments and good moments. He played on the inside, at OG.

Let me go ahead and tell you what happened in that alternate reality - After 2 torn ACLs, a broken back & multiple concussions, Brady retired after 5 years, and opened up a vegan taco shop in Pacific Beach - called PB12.

Can you imagine how differently Riley's time here would have been if we had drafted Brady?
