I just can't get over the value of this pick...very nice. Had we not selected Zion, I would have been relieved and happy to have Salyer fall to us in the third...and we get him in the 6th? Maybe he is still knicked up, and was a physical fail for a bunch of teams during the process....but at the cost of a 6th, we can certainly wait on the guy to get healthy...and if he is 100% by camp...let him compete, see what happens.
The TPB makes plans....And Jim Harbaugh laughs...

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB, Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

I think this pick really lets us put our 5 best OL on the field. He could play either OG spot or compete for RT. If you didn’t think Staley meant it when he said we are a LOS team after last year I sure hope you believe it now!

Versatility is huge for backup OL also. Qberry played 1 position. Zion and Salyer can play 5. Clapp can play 3. Feiler can play 3. Slater can play 4. If injuries do strike we can reshuffle.

Actually Clapp may be odd man out here.

Should be good to go from 'Dog practices alone.
We do not play modern football.

This guy is the No. 4 guard in Dane Brugler's The Beast (Zion was No. 1). While he played left tackle last year, and for most of the year prior, he played right tackle two years back, and Dane projected him as a plug-and-play guard, offering versatility at tackle in a pinch. I don't know how we get him in the 6th. But that really opens up the possibility of moving Feiler to right tackle, and keeping Zion at left guard (the position he played most of last year for Boston College). You'd have veteran (Slater), rookie (Johnson), veteran (Linsley), rookie (Salyer), veteran (Feiler) as potential starters, no two rookies together.

I don't know if he is a scheme fit right away (don't know Georgia's blocking scheme off the top of my head) but he has sufficient lateral agility for zone. He's a better pass blocker than run blocker right now, but that can be improved with better body and bend.

TT is getting good with his bullshit qualifier comments.

                  Remember now, Catholics don't lie.

"We wanna keep Feiler at OLG (after Zion.)"

"If we lined up right now, we'd be happy with PipStorm at ORT (before Jamaree.)"

Quessenberry could play guard and center. He started in the Texans game last year at center.

Clapp seems to be around only because of the connection to Lombardi.

Kind of reminds me of the Chiefs' selection of Trey Smith in the sixth round last year.

Isn’t our new OL coach from the Saints too?
