Teams are playing more and more nickel and dime. The reemergence of the power back could be a real thing.

    The pendulum swings back.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

What the heck, 7th round pick, bring it
Zander may not be an elite run blocker, but he's reportedly very good in pass pro...

That's an astute observation, Dude. Teams that load up on lightweight safeties and roll with only one LB are, as you point out, going to get nailed by the big, bruising 230#+ RB's...

No one should be more aware of this than Staley. I’m glad he’s a step ahead of the copycats.

It only takes one well-executed IOL block to spring a guy past the DL. When that guy’s bigger and faster than that one LB, it could spell a long day for the secondary.

And our IOL is looking very nice these days.

Yep...so, suppose a lot of teams go to the big bruising RB to blast past those lightweight safeties...THEN to counteract this, teams will have to start bringing in either fast, agile LB's or sure-tackling safeties...

Hope he makes the team. Love this pick and loved him in college. Was a bit banged up at times. Reminds me of Peyton Hillis

How does his size/speed/power compare to Michael Turner?

I read he's good as the upback on the punt unit. Kelley screws that up so much.

Damn I love this guy! Love his feet are always moving and hes a north south runner that has enough speed to hit the hole fast. Very athletic….hurdling pretty impressive. Kind of a tweener guy that may be a great pass safety valve/screen runner with a good set of moves to make guys miss. Obviously not your typical rb but teach him to pass protect and lead block and this kid will have a real opportunity here with his skillset.

He is a RB. Not a FB. Not an HB. At least that is what he was in college. A huge RB.and not just a short yardage guy. I hope that is how we use him.

This dude is faster and jumps higher than Spiller.
he’s a new and improved stephen anderson because he adds the running threat out of those plays. His hands are fantastic and he’s a load to bring down. He’ll bring a fun element to the offense.

He’s the new HB but he’ll run a few now and then…
