Only those parts that have been used by previous NFL defenses. Familiarity with history is usually an asset.

There's no such thing as a 'stud' backup QB. I'd be more than happy with 'reasonable competent' (Billy Volek). IMO Daniels and / or Stick are not at this level. I'm struggling with why Herbert needs Daniel's input - don't we have a slew of offensive coaches to provide support? What does Daniels bring that they don't?

I get the need to carry 3 QB's (covid risk), but why can't we upgrade our backups?

You don't need a stud to upgrade from Daniel, who isn't good enough to start in the USFL. Personally I would rather drop him and give the #2 job to Easton Stick. Fill Daniel's roster spot with a different position. I'd rather see someone like Riley Reiff brought in to compete for the right tackle spot than have Daniel standing around giving Herbert advice.

I'd be fine with this - but it's been pointed out that with covid still around it would be safer to have 3 QB's. Daniels would be better than a wide receiver (barely). Is Stick still eligible for the practice squad? I doubt he'd be poached.
