Team won’t be worn from the season grind yet, gets Arrowhead during great early fall weather. We added some vet depth pieces to solve our biggest weaknesses and they know how to play, KC is relying on some rookies solving some of their biggest holes.

it just a working theory as of now … still fleshing it out
    Good thoughts. I like it.

Better for the team to play tuff competition the whole season and become grizzled vs cupcake wins and wild card bounce out.

That'll get revised after we kick the shit out of KC in week 2.

Cincinnati had a cupcake schedule last year, played the worst secondaries in football, clobbered the Ravens and Steelers in their division and rode that momentum to the Super Bowl. Take what you want out of that but just something to think about.

The season is an extra game longer as well compared to what it used to be a few years ago. Close, tough, physical football games have a physical and mental impact as well. With that said, we're going to have to beat Kansas City and potentially Denver or Vegas in the playoffs anyways, so regular season matchups are great scouting reports.

The Bengals' defense was surprisingly good down the stretch and in the playoffs last season. That was the difference, whereas the Chargers' defense regressed late in the season. And no matter how good your offense is, if your defense is garbage you can't win. The Bengals' defense coming together late in the season and in the post-season is what what got them to the SB.

They made Mahomes look like he was back at Texas Tech in that second half, that's for sure.

I kind of feel Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense was still kind of sapped after the emotionally and physically exhaustive epic comeback win just a week before v. the Bills. I think that is at least part of the reason they were flat against the Bengals in the 2nd half. What do you think?

Jag vs Chargers. Because there's still non-believers whom would take Lawrence over Herbert.
