Schofield played the entire OT against Raiders with a torn bicep

I was reading about Staley and he talked about what he learned from the Raider game to close out last season. He said a lot of good things. But he also dropped that Michael Schofield played the entire OT period with a torn bicep. I know he is a limited player, but that is some kind of toughness. Wow.

The ability that these athletes have to play through pain is astonishing.

What’s sad is his level of play pre-injury was so low, no one noticed.

It tells me they aren't comfortable with Jaimes.

If he's not ready to go by at least halfway thru the season I'm good with just outright cutting him. I'm sure our new six rounder Salyer probably will outclass him at some point and how much time do you spend on a big question mark. I can see burning one season on a player but only one season. If they are not making great strides to contribute sometime this season it's time to put him on the practice squad.

I pretty much agree but to be fair, Jaimes played LOT at Nebraska and they switched him to G, so he had to learn a new position and a new system last year. He'll have a better chance to show them what he has this season.

Salyer played both T and G at Georgia so he should be ready faster. Guard will be a good position to watch this pre-season.

Assuming everyone on the OL is healthy, why would they cut Jaimes? He’s a 5th rounder. That screams backup. If he becomes anything more than it’s a bonus.
