And the O can play to Lombo’s strength, conservative ball control to burn the clock and keep the lead. Herbie’s not that QB yet, I believe he’ll learn from this, Staley too.

That play not only lost the game for us, but likely the season. It’s the Charger way.
Hell man, the season??? Good grief. Also, the only mistake Herbert made on that play was he whiffed on the tackle, imo. And that's understandable. Like I said above, the guy isn't trained to make a tackle. One could argue (and probably be right if Kurt Warner is right- and he's way smarter than me, obv) that Herbert should have thrown the ball away once Everette broke off the route (but, dang, dude faked him out by making a juke inside then went outside).

everett has been a great addition for us. Good YAC and a weapon. Don’t forget he had back to back catch and runs to get us down to the 3, the second of which required him to carry 2 defenders on his back for 10 yards. Not sure where the “continues to make mistakes” comes from.
We are learning some of Staley's philosophy of football.

        --Be bold and proactive.
--Superstars are the real difference between winning and losing.
--Superstars (JH10, JC, Khalil...) are propped up before all others.
--Be cautious and play the long game with injuries.
--Peak and be healthy in December and beyond.
--HC will be mostly transparent but occasionally inconsistent...
        tough toenails.

Last year, we came up a dollar short.

Yeah the peak in December part didn’t really work out last year. Lost 3 of the last 4

We ran out of players on D at the end of the year. Not surprising we faltered down the stretch.

The choke job was against Houston.

Houston was abysmal but wasn’t that the game where we were missing lots of guys to Covid.

KC and LVR were classic Charger choke jobs

I was thinking the same. What is he supposed to do? Gently lay him down? The guy jumped and Derwin hit him in his middle. Nothing else he could do.

Checking in. I do think KC was very lucky to win this game. Chargers were the better team in this game. The good news for KC is this is a retooling year. 7 new draft picks made tis team. Offense has almost all new receivers. Every team has some weakness and health is critical. No doubt the Chargers will be in the play offs and it could be KC vs Chargers. Hope you guys get some good news on injuries too. You have had your unfair share the past few seasons. Note: If Allen played this could have been a Chargers blow out.
