      Also, do NOT fire Telesco.
He is in the middle of navigating our depth, player development, and cap, at a crucial juncture of this franchise. TT, John S., and Ed McGuire must work together.

      Same goes for Staley.

I say this without reservation, and based upon football substance. It sure as F is not to gain popularity around here. So let's see how this all plays out.
It’s the play calling. Not that other things can’t be in the mix, but play calling, yup.

I have one issue...Play Action at the goal line.
We do not play modern football.

Of course, let the season play out,
but why do you think Wudai that things will be different with Telesco next year?

He's always been in the enviable position of operating with franchise quarterbacks during his time here.

He's made a few good decisions; but in general, he hasn't strung together enough 'good' decisions to make the Chargers into anything other than
a fringe playoff team during the best of times.

Another year will make him the longest tenured GM (by regular season games) in Charger history.
What has he done to merit this distinction?

Change can be good or bad: don't fear it.
Sticking with the same results (which is what you would get with Telesco) will lead nowhere.

Yep...repeatedly running up the gut and short stick routes vs. a heavy box...no bueno...oh, and NOT getting blockers out in front during our screen plays...muy malo...

It is not Telesco per se.
The working relationship with Spanos is not going to change.
The scouting department will remain intact.
              Build upon what we have.
Very, very few fellow fans agree.
              So be it.

I will never, ever be able to understand how Charger fans are unable to realize that wanting new ownership and a thorough housecleaning, and reality are two different things.

And to think that most want to throw in the towel right at this moment...disgusting.

              We are .500.
              AZ up next.
              Slowly getting healthier.
              Keep teaching, Staley and staff.

This season, Lombardi has admitted TWICE his play calling was too conservative and he admitted he ran out of plays in another game.

3 strikes YOU’RE OUT!!! He is the worst OC I can recall the Chargers have ever had.

Will the Charger brain trust (haha) realize he needs to be fired as quickly as Detroit did?

You mean stick with the myopia and the tunnel vision, and not look around? Put that old nose to the grindstone?
Not consider that we are in the same mess as last year, and the year before, and the year before that and not to opine about it?

You hit the nail on the head, the working relationship with Spanos is not going to change, and the Spanos/Telesco relationship has not succeeded and will continue to fail.
It is bloody obvious that after 9 1/2 seasons it will never work! Do you finally get it?

Nothing to lose in canning him and trying a new dance partner. No guarantee that the next GM isn't smarter and cagier than Telesco, and will have better results.
Meanwhile, they can continue stumbling around, backwards and forwards until the seasons end without this conversation affecting anything.

Telesco's best year was his first year, when he wasn't fully indoctrinated into the Spanos way of thinking. At least, with a new GM there will be that much.

No, because that would disrupt the harmony of the organization.
In addition, Lombo and the Chargers have not succeeded together in anything.
That is an important selling point with management.

Whiz, who helped get them to their last two playoff appearances, was canned without ceremony in the middle of his 4rth season here.
Would have been better if he had less success.

Too much success and you are cooked in the eyes of this organization. Lombo is safe, very safe!

How can an OC run out of plays? That's worse than the Waterboy running out of water...

So far Staley has a weakness for keeping coordinators he has had a long relationship with, even if they don’t deliver. For instance, Swinton should have been fired this off season and replaced with an up and comer like Ficken.

                        ’Doh!

I am not worried about Staley making changes

He didn't run out of plays. It was something about ran out of 3rd down plays and had to call the same ones again. Something like that.
