Unless you want Chase Daniel as the starter for the rest of the season, this kind of sentiment needs to die a slow death. The Chargers are running the Saint offense and it shall remain so: a ball-control offense through high percentage passes mixed with power running to own the time of possession and keep the defense fresh and off the field. Staley considers it state-of-the-art in the NFL, whether or not you agree, you may take those merits up with Staley.

Before Sunday, that philosophy had lead to a 4-2 record and a share of 1st place in the division. Now, I hope that Telesco and Staley are evaluating the depth chart and weighing making a move as Edge Chris Rumph was diagnosed with an MCL sprain and will be out for weeks. A move at WR + EDGE would be my line of thinking.
eye get it.... play the cards that you are dealt, and.... how much of it has been by design, and how much just the luck of the draw ??

by design was (over) drafting MW, and then (over) paying for MW.... should your seven overall wideout be rendered inert when your true No. 1 (slot) receiver goes down ?? Ja'Marr Chase would not have left us w/such a dilemma.

Joshua Palmer.... was he a hedge against potentially not resigning MW ?? is he expected to be the eventual replacement for KA ?? as of right now, he looks like neither was too good of an inkling.

we don't seem too concerned 'bout ever getting an RB1.... yes, Ekeler is amazing, and he is not someone who is meant to carry the load, 'specially between the tackles.

we decided to roll the dice on Parham's health and McKitty's development.... how is that working to date ??

we were adamant that the either of Storm or Pips would be our starting tackle, and we didn't give two shekels as to the possibility that Salyer might well be better than the both/either of 'em.

we have been dodging the Linsley injury bullet prior to this season, and now 'tis looking more and more like we will be paying the piper, and sooner than later.

and worst of all, and speaking of dodging scud missiles, we left Herbert in the game when he was obviously in severe pain and highly susceptible to a more serious injury.

when does your luck run out, and why in the world would anyone want to hang their hat on a dink and dunk offense when you've got a talent like Herbert @the helm ??

and yes, our offense is good when he's healthy, but the stats/analytics clearly show that as he goes, we go, and....

per usual and speaking for myself, the clear Chargers high point over the last coupla years was when Steichen & Co. brought up a virtually untested, if not unknown player from the ps, who promptly caught a rocket man longball for a touchdown against Detroit. not only was it exciting, but it frickin' worked.... that is Charger football.

if you want to play dink 'n dunk, it's nothing that Chase Daniel can't do, and we should certainly be resting Herbert and getting him healthy, instead of wasting away his talent (and good health) in blow out games.

RT Taliese Fuaga, DT Jer'Zhan Newton, NT T'Vondre Sweat, LB Cedric Gray, TE Ben Sinnott, RB Daijun Edwards, FS Cole Bishop, QB Joe Milton

Great organizations add players even to good or great teams...... 49ers added mcaffre, KC is adding odell bechham..... Chargers are more injured than anyone, yet we add no one.....
i'd add nobody because I have no confidence in the coaching staff.
If Telesco is telling John boy no, we don't have the talent; then he must have Spanos's balls gripped in a tight vice

A blowout game would be 24+ points.

Herbert can still make good plays even if he isn't at his best.

IF we lose it will probably be because:

Staley and Co were out coached, we couldn't run the ball. Our Oline played bad. We gave up the big play and run and Herbert didn't have time in the pocket and had a bad efficiency! Also if Geno is given too much time in the pocket this could be very bad.

We need to score close to 30 and our D needs to finally establish themselves with swagger! Here's hoping for 5-2 going into the Bye!
Sigh, these points were noted on page 1 before kickoff and like clockwork we failed in all these areas. In looking at our team its no mystery, fix these areas that were pointed out as keys to win the seahawks game and make the playoffs.

Don't and its time to clean house once and for all, that goes for some of our so called star players as well.

              This!!!

Besides, in his free time, Chase should have prepared to play (or at least help Herbert) than being a guest in NFL network....
