I'm hoping TT & MM don't think this move is enough to appease angry fans who see many leadership failures top to bottom. Even this move wasn't hard for them as the guy already had medical issues and wasn't fired for incompetence.

Yep, Donald Brown ruined him. If for no other reason, like his ridiculous salary coupled with the fact he's almost always a healthy scratch, they should release him for ruining the best punter in the game (at the time).

how did a broken collarbone ruin his punting leg exactly? maybe age and the cumulative toll of previous leg injuries has more to do with it?

Yeah, punters rarely seem to get nailed but poor Mike seemed to take 3-4 wicked hits a year in the past few years.

His injury was the one where he got nailed with his leg fully extended and ended up doing a full flip and landing on his head. Or was that different punt block?

Scifres has taken a number of extended leg hits over the last few years some on blocks. I've seen him get up numerous times hobbling. Sometimes he's missed time, other times he's gutted it out. I think it is clear that he's not what he once was.

He has sucked for years and is a drama queen. If you watch him at games in person over the last several years, every time he hits a lousy punt, he can barely limp off the field as if it was some mysterious injury that made him punt it that way. If, on the other hand, he really blasts one, he is running off the field jumping around and high-fiving. He has had a couple of legitimate injuries but I'm talking about when he hasn't.

Why did he even make the team this year? Didn't TT bring in effective competition?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

they were too busy trying to replace Novak to notice how far Scifres had slipped.

seems like the coaches and front office can't chew gum and walk at the same time ('re: telesco is so focused on the draft right now to handle signing contracts and extensions.....)
