Maybe he could play again. But the question is should he?

Its a good question. It really depends on the damage that he might have sustained after his cardiac arrest to his heart, but he is still young. If nothing was found, I wouldn't see why not, but from what I read from that article, the cause is still fuzzy, and not public (or they really don't know). It might be a mental thing too, would he go at his 100%? I know I don't after having a heart attack, but I've been cleared to do anything as long as there is no chest pain.

If he's cleared to play, and wants to, who are we to stop him?

We have already had a stroke survivor (Tedy Bruschi) return to the NFL, and he's just fine years later, so why not?

Oh I wouldn't stop him. It's his choice. But if I was him, even if the doctor said I could play, it would always be in the back of my mind that what happened might happen again. How could it not be? So I wonder if psychologically it is a good idea for him. Everyone is different.

Agree...scary event, hope we never see anything like that on the field ever again.

Hamlin spoke about Commotio Cordis, a rare medical condition that can happen after a sudden impact to the chest, which was what doctors determined happened in his case. The condition can happen when the impact occurs at “a specific point in your heartbeat” disrupting the process and causing sudden cardiac arrest. “Five-to-seven seconds later,” he said, “you fall out.”

Commotio Cordis is the “leading cause of death in youth athletes across all sports, so that’s something definitely something that [I’ll] be personally taking a step in to make a change,” Hamlin said. He indicated he will embody that process through his comeback.

“It’s something I want to prove to myself…nobody else. I want to show people that fear is a choice…You just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I want to stand for that.”

Wow - he's planning to play again. I never expected that. Blessings to him and his loved ones. Here's hoping he has a great year.
