Nice to see the rest of the AFC West underneath us.

Very interesting... I love these studies and the effort young academics put into such things. To be honest, if I were to make a list off the top of my head, my teams would be fairly similar. I may have had Pittsburgh 3 or 4 and I would probably had us more like 13 under teams like SF and GB.

Dallas pulls from the entire region adn from the casual fan that likes the color silver or stupid unattrative "stars". I know many Texans and most are not from Dallas. If your choice growing up was Boys or Oilers, who are you going to pick? NE pulls from like 18 main states and from those that don't have a team & jump on board becuase they like bradys hair. New York has 937 million tool bags living there and based on how they're doing, the Jets/Giants numbers skew from time to time (except for the fire fighter guy)... Some of these are big surprises (mostly GB and SF), but other make sense.

I'm surprised that GB and Pitt are so low. I would think that both would be in the top 5. I think the Pats, Siants and Titans are way too high.

Saints belong up there. What they mean to post Katrina New Orleans is pretty unreal.

How do they adjust for the bandwagoners if a team is winning?

They don't thats why the Pats and Saints are so high. The Pats had no fans pre Brady and the Saints had no fans pre Katrina.

San Diego's attractiveness as a vacation destination for away teams fans would seem to greatly over-rate attendance, which seems to be their major measure.

Following their 1-15 season, the Chargers still had around 35,000 - 40,000 season ticket holders, most of them local I would presume. When the Patriots went 1-15, their season ticket base fell to around 19,000, which was only 5 years or so after they played in a Super Bowl.

Greatly overrated? We get opposing fans, but minus the duhs games, there isn't a large enough percentage of opposing fans at games to use the words great or over-rated IMO.
